WWE SmackDown: Women’s Championship Match Officially Added to Royal Rumble

Carmella and Sasha Banks have collided several times in recent weeks, but last week on SmackDown, The Boss was able to wrestle Carmella’s Sommelier, Reginald, which means that The Untouchable star would be handed a Women’s Championship match.

The Boss told Carmella that if she was granted a match against Reginald after he had interfered in several of their previous bouts, then she would grant her a match for the SmackDown Women’s Championship.

Banks was able to come out on top after forcing Reginald to tap to The Bank Statement, and this week on SmackDown, the duo was spotted backstage ahead of Royal Rumble.

Reginald looked to offer Banks the perfect wine to accompany her Championship loss to Carmella before the Women’s Champion requested that he should find the perfect wine to accompany the former SmackDown Women’s Champion’s broken neck following this weekend’s show.

This is now the fourth Championship match to be added to Royal Rumble since Roman Reigns defends the Universal Championship against Kevin Owens in a Last Man Standing match, Asuka and Charlotte defend the Women’s Tag Team Championship against Shayna Baszler and Nia Jax while Goldberg challenges Drew McIntyre for the WWE Championship.
