This week’s episode of SmackDown was the final stop on the road to Elimination Chamber, but there were several strange booking decisions throughout.
One of the more interesting stories of the night surrounded Reginald, who interrupted Bayley’s Ding Dong! Hello? talk show to defend Sasha Banks.
This led to a six-person tag match which included Reginald on the same team as Sasha Banks and Bianca Belair.
Despite obvious tension between the two women who could collide at WrestleMania, the two women were able to co-exist and helped Reginald to pin Nia Jax.
Bayley had already been taken out at ringside while Shayna Baszler became the victim of a two-on-one assault that took her out of the match.
Backstage, Reginald was at odds with Carmella who had seen what went down and wanted him to do the right thing, but it was then officially announced that Belair and Banks would be granted a Tag Team Championship match at Elimination Chamber.
Since Reginald was the one who pinned Nia Jax, it’s unclear as to why he hasn’t been granted a Championship opportunity which he could have then extended to Carmella.
Perhaps this is a storyline route that WWE will take this weekend as part of the pay-per-view.
