It was reported a few weeks ago that WWE is planning to conduct another draft when SmackDown Live officially begins airing on FOX television. This move is aimed at ensuring separate rosters, which will also mean the end of the Wild Card Rule.
WWE is starting the preparations for the impending move, which takes place in three weeks’ time. WWE trucks with the new Friday Night SmackDown on FOX logo are already moving around, and they have images of several WWE superstars.
One of those superstars is current RAW Women’s Champion Becky Lynch, who will defend her title against Sasha Banks later tonight at Clash of Champions. Becky Lynch has featured in several advertisements for SmackDown recently, and it is widely predicted that The Man will return to SmackDown Live once again.
Becky Lynch starred on SmackDown Live for close to three years, before moving to RAW after she lost the SmackDown Women’s Championship to Bayley at Money in the Bank.
Becky Lynch became the first superstar to hold the SmackDown Women’s Championship three years ago, and her return to the blue brand will surely mean exciting things on Friday nights.
The aforementioned draft was rumored to take place on two dates, beginning from October 11 episode of SmackDown and culminating at Oct 14 episode of Monday Night RAW. FOX has officially confirmed the date for the first round of the draft, and it will air on the second episode of SmackDown Live.
WWE later made a full announcement regarding the draft, and announced that celebrities from FOX and NBC Universal will be making the picks.
The inclusion of celebrities, along with the excitement of the draft process will ensure great ratings for the WWE shows in the second week of October. If the above spoiler is anything to go by, The Man and The Big Dog, arguably the two most popular figures in WWE today, will be a part of the blue brand.
