WWE SummerSlam: The Fiend Wins the Universal Championship, Roman Reigns Returns

The Fiend was able to win back the Universal Championship that he lost earlier this year in Saudi Arabia earlier tonight at SummerSlam.

Strowman threw everything that he had at the former Wyatt Family leader but in the end, it wasn’t enough since Strowman exposed the wood underneath the ring and then received two Sister Abigails.

It seemed as though the show had come to an end following their Falls Count Anywhere match, but Roman Reigns then made his way to the ring and attacked both Strowman and The Fiend. Reigns hasn’t been seen since March when he was forced to self isolate when COVID-19 shut WWE inside the Performance Center.

There were rumors that the former World Champion would be making his return at SummerSlam and now that the company is in a position where they can present live shows once again, Reigns’ return was seen as a huge shock.

Reigns took the fight to both men and even attacked The Monster Among Men with a steel chair before turning his attention to The Fiend and delivering two spears.

In the end it was Roman Reigns who was left standing tall following this year’s SummerSlam even though the former Champion wasn’t on the card, although it now makes sense as to why Payback is just seven days away, since The Fiend, Roman Reigns and Braun Strowman now have unfinished business.
