Paige Returns With New Women’s Tag Team

WWE Superstar Shake-Up 2019 got a whole lot more interesting as Paige returned to SmackDown Live with her new women’s tag team.

The former General Manager of the blue brand introduced Asuka and NXT call-up Kairi Sane amidst huge pop. The duo is eyeing the Women’s Tag Team Championships that are currently held by The IIconics.

Asuka and Sane’s pairing could be a clear indication that WWE is doing away with The Empress in singles action at least for now and the former SmackDown Women’s Champion is being seen as a catalyst to springboard The Pirate Princess’ career on the main roster.

Only time will reveal how WWE uses Paige in her new managerial role given her former stable Absolution died a sudden death due to her sudden in-ring retirement.

The Riott Squad Splits

The Riott Squad is no longer a thing owing to this year’s Superstar Shake-Up.

After the latest edition of SmackDown Live went off the air, WWE quietly moved Liv Morgan from the red brand to the blue one.

This clearly means that WWE is finally doing away with the stable that debuted in November, 2017.

Despite looking promising in the initial weeks, the faction soon lost momentum and besides Ruby Riott, the other members, Sarah Logan and Morgan became largely irrelevant.

It would be interesting to see how WWE books Morgan henceforth now that she is a singles competitor in the Land Of Opportunities.
