This week’s episode of Monday Night RAW was as dark as it could be with the shocking announcement made by immediate ex-WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns.

Reigns revealed that Leukemia, which he was diagnosed with at age 22 and managed to keep at bay for the last 11 years, has now returned forcing him to relinquish the Universal Championship and go home to carry on with his treatment.

Reigns’ indefinite leave of absence to fight against leukemia forced WWE to change the Triple Threat Universal Championship Match at Crown Jewel to a typical 1-on-1 matchup featuring Brock Lesnar and Braun Strowman. The inevitable result following this announcement is the fact that the WWE Universe will be getting a new Universal Champ on November 2, 2018.

WWE posted a backstage video that features Superstars hugging and showing love to Reigns.

Reigns won the Universal Championship at SummerSlam this year after pinning Brock Lesnar for the first time in his career. Little did anyone know that fate would have other plans for The Big Dog.

Following Reigns’ announcement on RAW, WWE Superstars from the past and present including Hall of Famers showered in tweets to show love, support and send prayers and wishes to The Big Dog.

It’s evident that WWE has to overhaul its plans leading to Survivor Series, Royal Rumble and WrestleMania as Reigns was originally billed to walk into WrestleMania 35 as the reigning Universal Champion.

A heel Strowman and part-time Lesnar could hurt the Universal Championship’s image to a great extent.
