Bray Wyatt‘s Fiend was able to defeat Seth Rollins in Saudi Arabia at WWE Crown Jewel on Thursday night, which means that he can now take the Universal Championship to SmackDown.
The Universal Championship was once exclusive to Raw which is why the belt is red, but many fans have pulled up the fact that the company will now need to change it in order for the title to fit on SmackDown.
Over the years, there have been many stars who have been allowed to have custom Championships, most famously John Cena and his spinner belt, so now it’s believed that The Fiend could be given a custom title as well.
WWE even teased the fact that Bray Wyatt will be revealing what “personal touch” he has given the Championship tonight as part of the premiere of WWE Backstage on FS1.
WWE needs to push tonight’s debut of the show since Brock Lesnar was originally supposed to announce that he was quitting SmackDown and moving over to Monday Night Raw to continue his feud with Rey Mysterio. Of course, the issues with many stars’ return flight from Saudi Arabia meant that Brock Lesnar had to appear on SmackDown on Friday night and announce that he was quitting the show there.
This meant that WWE now has to find something that the WWE Universe will want to tune in to see and a hint at Bray Wyatt’s new customized Universal Championship could be enough for a lot of fans to want to watch the show.
There have been rumors over the past few weeks that CM Punk could return to be part of WWE Backstage, but it was revealed that Ryan Satin of Pro Wrestling Sheet had been hired instead and it’s now unlikely that Punk would be linked with a return to WWE.
