Vince McMahon Wanted To Turn Someone Heel
Ronda Rousey will be defending the RAW Women’s Championship against Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania 35.
Although it’s a given that Becky Lynch will be added to that match down the line making it a Triple Threat showdown, WWE didn’t exactly have this plan initially as it involved Natalya in the title picture.
On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer revealed that Vince McMahon wanted to turn someone heel in order to set up the title match.
“It was originally Charlotte, then it was gonna be Natalya.”
“Then Jim Neidhart died and they felt Natalya couldn’t go heel. As you could imagine, how much that probably disappointed her. Then it was Charlotte again. Then it became Becky and then it became the three-way. I think it could change again but I don’t think it will.”
Update On Nia Jax’s Backstage Heat
On Oh, You Didn’t Know podcast, Brad Shepard revealed whether Nia Jax has any sort of backstage heat in WWE at present.
The Facebreaker laid waste to R-Truth and took his 30th spot in the 30-Man Elimination Match at Royal Rumble. It appears that things are cool between both Superstars now.
“There was a report that came out that R-Truth had heat with Nia Jax over the Rumble where he was hurt. Then Nia Jax was trolling, I guess wrestling journalists, so she posted an Instagram picture with R-Truth and so I was told Nia Jax did accidentally hurt R-Truth — nothing serious and there is no heat between them.”
Randy Orton Sets New Personal Record
13-time World Champion Randy Orton set a new record this week on SmackDown Live.
The Viper, with his quick victory over AJ Styles in the Gauntlet Match, cemented himself in WWE’s record book. At 746 televised matches, Orton now holds the record for the third-most TV matches in WWF/WWE history.
Congratulations to The Legend Killer and more power to him as he aims to overtake The Big Show.
