For two of SmackDown’s superstars, the journey to the first-ever WWE World Cup begins this Tuesday.

The WWE has announced that the first two qualifying matches for the WWE World Cup, a tournament that will be held during the pay-per-view Crown Jewel, will take place on this Tuesday’s episode of SmackDown Live.

On this episode, Jeff Hardy, the Charismatic Enigma is going to appear on SmackDown again. He will be squaring off against The Destroyer, Samoa Joe.

Hardy was injured during his match at Hell in a Cell against Randy Orton and his appearance on this week’s SmackDown will be his first television appearance since then.

Samoa Joe, on the other hand, is still smarting from a loss by submission from WWE Champion AJ Styles during WWE Super Show-Down.

The other World Cup Qualifying Match features another return, with the Big Show squaring off against the Viper, Randy Orton.

It’s been a while since we’ve seen the Big Show in the ring as he’s mostly stuck to official WWE appearances and working WWE charities such as Conner’s Cure. He looks good though, so he should give the always unpredictable Viper a fight.

On the side of the Women’s division, the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship is on the line as Becky Lynch squares off again against her former best friend, now bitter rival Charlotte Flair.

The two met during WWE Super Show-Down where Lynch retained by getting intentionally disqualified. Well, that’s not going to happen this week as, there has been a stipulation added to the match that states if Lynch get’s DQ’d she’s going to lose her title.

Who will move on to the WWE World Cup? And will we see a title change? Tune in to SmackDown Live to see.
