WWE’s Contract Negotiations With Universal Champion Brock Lesnar Stalled

Paul Heyman, the Advocate of the longest reigning, defending, undisputed WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar, recently took a dig at the WWE poll that asked fans who should join Roman reigns and Bobby Lashley in the multi-man match to determine the #1 Contender for the Universal Championship at Extreme Rules.

Heyman took to Facebook and wrote a lengthy promo taking shots at the various poll options. The Advocate called Reigns a Sloppy Second Samoan and Kevin Owens a midcarder. As for Lashley, he wrote,

“Bobby Lashley? The Man Who Would Be Lesnar? The supposed college standout who won the NAIA Championship because he knew the competition for the Division 1 Championship was too fierce? By the way, remember, when Bobby won the NAIA Title that no one really cared about, Brock Lesnar was making national headlines winning the D1 Heavyweight Championship.

When Bobby saw Brock Lesnar ascend to become the biggest box office attraction in UFC, Bobby knew he had no chance against Brock, so he hid behind Scot Coker’s tomato cans in Strikeforce and Bellator, hoping to look good enough to graduate into a once-in-a-lifetime payday position against Brock Lesnar, who has never even heard about Bobby except the few times I mention Bobby’s name to Brock, and always as the punchline to a joke about the pitiful level of pseudo-athletes who think they are even in Brock’s league.”

Lashley responded via Twitter saying he has never dodged Lesnar but he is ready for a match now, given that they are under the same roof and he would love to go down with The Beast. Reigns, who is rumoured to face Lesnar at SummerSlam, issued a warning to The Dominator and dared Heyman to appear on Monday Night RAW.

On the latest “WWE Now”, Cathy Kelley said that Heyman’s lengthy Facebook post came as a result of stalled contract negotiations. As per Kelley, “both sides have failed to reach an agreement.”

It was earlier reported that Bobby Lashley was under the impression that a dream match with Lesnar was on the table, at the time he was in talks with WWE for his return. Thus, it makes sense for Bobby to chime in after Heyman’s Facebook post.

It is expected that the WWE Universe will get some clarity on what lies in store for The Beast after June 30, 2018 (the last date for Lesnar to join the USADA testing pool if he wants to return to UFC) or Extreme Rules (July 15, 2018).
