Dolph Ziggler will go 1-on-1 with former Universal Champion Goldberg in just 3 days at WWE SummerSlam.
Per betting odds released by Bet Online, Goldberg (-600) is the favorite to win the bout while Ziggler stands as the underdog (+350).
While many are looking forward to Goldberg emerging victorious in Canada after his abysmal performance (and loss) at Saudi Arabia, Hall Of Famer Sean “X-PAC” Waltman happens to be on the opposite end of the spectrum.
On his X-PAC 12360 podcast, the proud DX member explained why The Showoff deserves to steal the show come Sunday.
“Goldberg got a good reaction coming out, so that’s a good sign. That means this very well may work as designed. It’ll be really good, as long as people dig it.”
“I would like to see Dolph win this. I think that would be a good gesture. Since this is a work and everything, and one shouldn’t have too big of an ego, maybe it would be good to give back to the business and leave Dolph better off than when he started this.”
It is to be noted that WWE swerved us all when Baron Corbin successfully pinned Kurt Angle in the latter’s farewell match at WrestleMania 35. From that angle, there’s a high possibility that Ziggler might be the one to go over on August 11.
On the other hand, it’s very unlikely that WWE would let The Myth suffer two consecutive losses at two big pay-per-views. This leads to the notion that Goldberg could be walking out of the Scotiabank Arena as the victor.
At this point, the match could go either way, but the fact that WWE had initially discussed a dirty SummerSlam victory for Ziggler says a lot already.
Ziggler has spearheaded this feud and worked hard all throughout to give legitimacy to the storyline. WWE should hand him the victory over Goldberg as a sign of appreciation for his continued hard work over the years if that’s what’s “best for business”.
