Xavier Woods’ Injury Update
Xavier Woods suffered an Achilles injury at a recent Australian live event, and his condition is way more serious than initially thought.
On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer reported that Woods will require surgery and is going to be out of action for about a year or so.
“He’s having surgery for a torn Achilles. It’s bad. He’s gonna be out for nine months probably more. A torn Achilles is about a year recovery for an athlete, but I think a wrestler can come back a little quicker because wrestling is not about that like you know the real speed you need on the football field of the basketball court. So I think with a wrestler he could come back a little quicker. It’s not a common injury to wrestlers at all.”
Jake Hager On Cain Velasquez’s WWE Transformation
Cain Velasquez will challenge Brock Lesnar for the WWE Championship in a week’s time at WWE Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia.
Velasquez, who is set to make his WWE debut in The Kingdom has been well received by fans and is expected to dethrone The Beast, much like how he had defeated him in UFC in 2010.
“It takes years and years of training to have a great match with somebody. As excited that I am that he crossed over, and I love the competition and the comparisons because him and I are the same age and were in college at the same time.”
“I don’t think someone can walk off the street and have that Hall of Fame five-star match. It’s going to be an eye-opener for a lot of fans and him.”
