Andrade “Cien” Almas was floundering on the NXT brand before Zelina Vega was aligned with the former NXT Champion and was then able to change his fortunes. As his business associate, she has been able to give his career direction and he has in turn been able to help Vega with a number of aspects of her own professional career.

For fans who are unaware, Vega had a lengthy career as a female wrestler before she was signed to WWE and was known as Thea Trinidad in Impact Wrestling. Vega was also once engaged to former WWE star Austin Aries but has recently revealed that the couple is no longer together.

It appears that Vega has been able to move on both personally and professionally in recent years and she holds Almas responsible for a lot of her growth as a person in that time.

On a recent episode of Busted Open Radio, Vega was able to reveal how much Almas has been able to help her both inside and outside of the ring.

“I think more than anything, he has become such a part of me. I remember when I first was going to have my match with Lana, I was like, “Wait, my entrance, it’s alone-without him? What do you mean?” We ended up doing it together, but he’s become such a part of me.”

“He’s helped me in the ring, he’s helped me with-we talked about-psychology, and picking your spots and making things make sense. Especially at my size, I thought at some points, “Well, I can’t do any power moves. How can I do this?” And he instantly comes up with, “Ok, let’s try this. Let’s use this to your advantage. Let’s not look at it as a disadvantage. Let’s look at it like an advantage and how can we use it against people. They’re gonna look at you and think less, let’s use that against them.”

Almas and Vega team up to take on Lana and Rusev on Sunday night as part of the SummerSlam kick off show, this will be the first time that the duo has been able to team together on the main roster and they are hoping to get off to a great start.
