AEW presented another TV special this week, with Beach Break, filled with several high profile matchups and segments.
Tag Team Battle Royale
The entire tag division showed up for the number one contender’s battle royal, with the Inner Circle bringing in their three teams. The champions Young Bucks themselves entered the royal but were eliminated as the action boiled down to three Inner Circle men (Jericho, MJF, and Sammy Guevera) against Max Caster, Darius Martin, and Jungle Boy.
The problems within the Inner Circle continued, as Jericho eliminated Guevara, but Jericho ended up eliminating Martin in the end to win the match.
Darby Allin Announces TNT Title Match
Sting and Darby Allin entered the ring as Allin announced his TNT Championship match for next week against Joey Janela. Team Taz appeared on the big screen and were frustrated as they couldn’t enter the arena. Starks and Sting talked some trash to end the segment.
Britt Baker def. Thunder Rosa
After weeks of attacks, the two individuals finally clashed, and Baker prevailed after knocking out Rosa with the Lockjaw. Baker pushed Rosa into an exposed turnbuckle, and then applied her submission for the win, with Reba playing an able ally at the ringside.
Matt Hardy and Hangman Page def. Chaos Project
Hangman Page and Matt Hardy discussed a partnership, but Page refused to sign Hardy’s contract. However, he agreed to team up with Hardy for a match against Chaos Project.
A quick match saw Hardy and Page pick up the win. Page delivered the Buckshot Lariat on Luther, but Hardy tagged himself in for the pinfall, which didn’t amuse Page.
The Women’s Eliminator Tournament was announced with brackets, with half the tourney taking place in Japan and the other half in the USA.
Backstage: Jericho and MJF celebrated their victory, but Guevara wasn’t too thrilled with the collateral damage.
Kip Sabian and Penelope Ford’s Wedding
Kip Sabian and Penelope Ford’s wedding took place with Jamie Mitchell presiding over the vows. Miro dropped a reference to the Lana-Bobby Lashley angle from WWE before Chuck Taylor attacked Miro and Sabian. Orange Cassidy appeared from a giant cake and attacked the heels, as the duo celebrated.
Lumberjack Match | Lance Archer def. Eddie Kingston
A short matchup saw Archer destroy a lot of lumberjacks, and hit several moves followed by the Blackout for the win.
Backstage: FTR was angry after Jungle Boy got them suspended, and they couldn’t take part in the Battle Royal. They beat up Marko Stunt who was tied to a chair in the room.
Backstage: Joey Janela talked about similarities between him and Darby Allin and said that next week he will win the title and the champion will be a bad boy.
Kenny Omega and Good Brothers def. Jon Moxley, Fenix, and PAC
An incredible encounter saw the heels come out on top, after Good Brothers hit the Magic Killer on Fenix, while Omega laid out PAC with the V-Trigger. Gallows pinned Fenix to end the match.
Post-match, the group continued to attack Fenix. Lance Archer made the save and took out Good Brothers. Moxley was blindsided by a debuting KENTA, who laid him out with the Go to Sleep.
