AEW Dynamite aired this week with fall out from Beach Break as the build continued towards Revolution.

AEW TNT Championship | Darby Allin(c) def. Joey Janela

The show kicked off with a high flying encounter between Janela and Allin, as the champion prevailed after hitting a coffin drop to retain the title.

Backstage: Jon Moxley, sporting the IWGP US Title, said that Kenta and he will fight later this month in a sanctioned match, but tonight’s main-event is unsanctioned and will be ‘just for fun’.

Backstage: Sammy Guevara and MJF engaged in verbal jabs, as Guevara called out MJF’s ploy to take over Inner Circle. MJF got Guevara to speak what MJF wanted and recorded the same on his phone. Guevara realized this and broke MJF’s phone, and punched him to end the segment.

Cody Rhodes and Lee Johnson def. Cezar Bononi and Peter Avalon

Rhodes teamed up with Johnson and ended up winning the match after Johnson rolled up Avalon for the win. This is Johnson’s first victory in AEW.

Post-match, The Nightmare Family entered the scene as Johnson celebrated his first win after 0-29.

Backstage: Hangman Page was coaxed by Matt Hardy to have drinks with him to which Page agreed after being skeptical at first.

PAC def. Ryan Nemeth

PAC took out Nemeth in quick fashion after hitting the Black Arrow followed by locking in the Brutalizer for the win.

Backstage: An angry Miro promised to take revenge on Orange Cassidy and Chuck Taylor.

Backstage: MJF walked up to Jericho with his ribs taped, and said that Guevara broke them.

Chris Jericho and MJF def. The Acclaimed

The No.1 contenders for the Tag Team Championships warmed up with a win over Acclaimed, after Jericho hit the Judas Effect on Max Caster (who was shoved by Jake Hager into the ring), to win the match.

Post-match, Sammy Guevara entered the ring and said he is quitting the Inner Circle, and made his exit through the babyface tunnel. Backstage, he said that he will take some time off to refocus.

Matt Hardy got Page drunk enough in a bar, and shadily got him to sign the contract.

Taz Interrupts Sting’s Interview

Sting got in the ring for an interview with Tony Schiavone, but Taz and his gang interrupted from the big screen. The camera panned to Darby Allin in a body bag, as Ricky Starks and Brian Cage dragged him.

Kenny Omega was interviewed in a golf course, and he said he doesn’t want to prepare for the main event and would like to take his mind off with golfing.

Women’s World Title Eliminator Tournament | Thunder Rosa def. Leyla Hirsch

The former NWA Women’s Champion advanced to the next round after hitting the Thunder Driver on Hirsch. Hirsch’s arm breaker attempt was countered into a powerbomb followed by Rosa’s finisher.

Backstage: Jungle Boy said he came out as a different man after his match against Dax Harwood, and he will make him his b***h the next time they meet.

No Count-Out/Anything Goes Match | KENTA and Kenny Omega def. Lance Archer and Jon Moxley
