AEW Dynamite this week was set to focus on tag team wrestling while TNT champion Darby Allin and Sting address their upcoming Street Fight with Team Tazz’s Ricky Starks and Brian Cage.
1. Eddie Kingston def. Lance Archer
The two men finally faced off after weeks of trash-talking. Butcher and Blade brought out a beaten-up Jake Roberts in the middle of the match, as Bunny handed a duster to Kingston. Kingston attacked Archer with the foreign object to win the match.
Post-match, all the three members and Bunny joined in dishing out some more punishment to Archer.
Jon Moxley cut a promo and said he doesn’t understand all the factions on the roster. He asked his partners, PAC and Fenix to ready up ahead of their match against Omega, Gallows and Anderson at Beach Break.
Sting and Darby Allin talked in a random building ahead of their street fight, and both the stars randomly broke stuff with their baseball bat and skateboard, as they acknowledged being hoodlums.
2. Chris Jericho and MJF def. Varsity Blondes
MJF said he wants to talk with Sammy Guevara after the match and landed some verbal jabs on Griff Garrison. Garrison and Pillman Jr. showed their athleticism but the heels ended up winning after Jericho hit a Judas Effect followed by the Lionsault.
PAC said that Kenny Omega doesn’t own this business, and he will have to face the consequences at Beach Break.
3. Cody Rhodes Responds to Shaq’s Challenge
Cody responded to Shaq challenging him for a match and said he is confused as Brandi Rhodes is out due to pregnancy. Arn Anderson introduced Red Velvet, who was tired of being disrespected. It seemed like Velvet and Cody will take on Shaq and Jade Cargill at Revolution.
4. Hangman Page def. Ryan Nemeth
Dolph Ziggler’s brother made his AEW debut, as Page made quick work of him and hit a series of moves culminating with the buckshot lariat to win the match.
Post-match, Matt Hardy, who was watching the match at ringside, entered the ring and praised Page and his abilities. He tried to recruit Page into his corner, as Page pondered it over.
5. Jungle Boy def. Dax Harwood
Luchasaurus was chained with Tully Blanchard and Cash Wheeler at ringside to avoid any outside interference, as the two stars produced a great match. JB ended up taking the pin after applying a snare trap on Harwood’s arm to make him submit.
Post-match, chains were removed as Tully threw powder on Luchasaurus’ face. The heels dished out a beatdown before Top Flight, Marko Stunt, and SCU ran down to help.
Outside the arena, Taz and his men readied for the matchup but caught the eye of the merch guys. They had only Sting and Allin’s merch which angered them and they ended up beating down the merch guys.
6. Britt Baker def. Shanna
Baker took a win over Shanna after Reba distracted the referee, allowing Baker to lock in the lockjaw for the submission victory.
Post-match, Thunder Rosa ran into the ring, after Baker dished out some attack on Shanna.
Backstage: MJF spoke with Guevara and said that he didn’t want Wardlow to get involved in the match last week. Guevara said everyone may believe MJF, but he won’t.
Backstage: Good Brothers and Young Bucks seemed to be in good spirits ahead of their match, before Don Callis and Kenny Omega interrupted. Callis was wounded after Bucks’ attack last week, as the two parties argued a bit.
7. The Young Bucks and Good Brothers def. The Dark Order
The tag team champions of AEW and Impact ended up picking a win over the Dark Order after a chaotic match. Good Brothers hit the Magic Killer on Evil Uno followed by Young Bucks hitting the Meltzer Driver on Stu Grayson for the win.
Post-match, Good Brothers and Young Bucks did a too sweet gesture before Fenix and Moxley attacked them. Omega tried to run in but got hit with a paradigm shift from Moxley. The faces stood tall to end the show.
