AEW Dynamite Results and Highlights

Cody defeated Sammy Guevara: The first-ever match of AEW Dynamite saw the brains behind AEW, Cody, take on Sammy Guevara. The match was a fine introduction to the company, and saw Cody take the win with an inside cradle for the pinfall.

Post Match, AEW World Champion Chris Jericho attacked Cody and introduced himself to the world.

MJF defeated Brandon Cutler: The rising star of AEW, MJF, was greeted with a**hole chants from the crowd. MJF cheated his way to a victory over Cutler.

Backstage: Scorpio Sky announced that Frankie Kazarian and Christopher Daniels will take part in the Tag-Team Tournament.

PAC defeated Hangman Page: The match originally scheduled for AEW Double or Nothing, finally took place on the premiere episode. In a highly physical match, Page passed out after PAC locked him in a submission move.

AEW Women’s Championship Match: Riho defeated Nyla Rose: Riho defeated Rose with double knee strikes, to become the inaugural Women’s Champion in AEW.

Chris Jericho, Tito Santana and Ortiz defeated Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks: Chris Jericho picked up the victory for his team with a Judas Effect on Matt Jackson. Midway through the match, Jon Moxley attacked Omega and dragged him out of the ring to the backstage and dropped him with a butterfly DDT through a glass table.

Post Match, Cody ran out to help his former Bullet Club buddies. Guevara attacked Cody, leading to a run-in by Cody’s brother Dustin Rhodes. Finally, Jack Hager (fka Jack Swagger) made his debut in AEW and took out the babyfaces. The heels stood tall to end the show.
