The build for AEW Full Gear 2020 continued with several new matches and storyline progressions taking place on this week’s taped episode of Dynamite.

Backstage: MJF talked about Wardlow winning the Eliminator Tournament, which would essentially make MJF the #1 contender as he owns Wardlow. His henchman didn’t seem too thrilled before Sammy Guevara interrupted and threw MJF’s jacket on the ground. Guevara and MJF exchanged looks but didn’t engage.

AEW World Title Eliminator Tournament Semi-Finals: Hangman Page def. Wardlow

The show kicked off with the first semi-final with Page and Wardlow going at it. Wardlow tried to physically overpower the much smaller frame of Page and even hit an F-10, but Page survived and hit the Buckshot Lariat to advance to the finals.

Jon Moxley cut a promo and talked about his rivalry with Kingston being more than just a professional encounter. He promised to make Kingston say “I Quit” at the PPV and crush his ego.

Eddie Kingston entered the ring and trash-talked Moxley, before calling out Matt Sydal for a match.

Eddie Kingston def. Matt Sydal

Kingston geared up for his world championship match at Full Gear with a destructive win against Sydal and used Moxley’s finisher on Sydal to make him quit the match.

Interview: FTR and Young Bucks were interviewed simultaneously in different locations, ahead of their much-awaited match at Full Gear. The two teams felt the winner will be crowned as the best team in the world. Young Bucks put forth a stipulation – if they lose, they will never challenge for the tag titles again.

The Townhall Meeting

Inner Circle entered the ring for the Townhall meeting to decide if MJF can join their group. Luchasaurus, Britt Baker, and Eric Bischoff asked interesting questions that sowed seeds of dissent between Jericho and MJF.

Jericho proposed a match between him and MJF at Full Gear, and if MJF defeats him, he can join the group.

Lumberjack Match for TNT Championship: Cody(c) def. Orange Cassidy

The match was chaotic with lumberjacks getting involved from time-to-time and hitting the participants on several occasions. The match ended after John Silver of Dark Order hit Cassidy, followed by Arn Anderson landing a blow on Cassidy, allowing Cody to hit the Cross-Rhodes and retain the title.

Backstage: Miro and Kip Sabian destroyed Best Friends for damaging their game on an earlier episode of Dynamite.

NWA Women’s World Championship: Serena Deeb(c) def. Leyla Hirsch

The newly crowned champion defended her title on Dynamite and managed to secure a quick and easy win with the Single Legged Boston Crab.

Shawn Spears def. VSK

The match ended in a few seconds after hitting the C4 for the three-count.

Post-match, Tully Blanchard brought in a masked person from ringside for Spears to beat up, but it was Scorpio Sky who hit a TKO on Spears.

Semi-Final for AEW World Title Eliminator Tournament: Kenny Omega(c) def. Penta El Zero M

Penta replaced his brother in the match after Fenix suffered an injury last week. Omega took off his shirt to reveal the AAA title belt, which he won after defeating Fenix a few months ago.

The duo produced yet another engaging encounter with Omega coming out on top after hitting the One-Winged Angel for the pinfall. Omega will now face Page in the finals at Full Gear.
