AEW Fyter Fest 2020 Night 1 Results

Here are your AEW Fyter Fest 2020 Results from Night 1. This week’s AEW Dynamite presented Night 1 of Fyter Fest and featured AEW Women’s Title match, AEW Tag Team Title match, AEW TNT Title match and more.

AEW Fyter Fest 2020 Night 1 Results:

MJF kicked off the show and said AEW is using him to win the ratings war by putting him on the frontlines.

Luchasaurus and Jungle Boy def. MJF and Wardlow:
The two teams had a long and feisty battle before MJF used his Diamond Ring to accidentally punch Wardlow. This led to the faces delivering their final moves on Wardlow for the pinfall victory.

AEW Women’s Championship | Hikaru Shida(c) def. Penelope Ford:
Kip Sabian was sent to the back early but returned in the final moments to attack Shida with the kendo stick. Shida dodged and then hit running knee strikes on Ford for the win.

AEW TNT Championship | Cody(c) def. Jake Hager:
Hager had his wife at ringside, who slapped Cody while the referee was distracted. Dustin Rhodes also helped his brother during the closing moments. Hager locked in the Triangle hold, but referee counted to three as Hager’s shoulders were on the mat.

Post-match, a frustrated Hager punched the referee in the face as several other officials rused out to make the save.

Darby Allin cut a promo and said he still isn’t cleared for in-ring action, as we see him perform skateboard stunts with his friends.

Private Party def. Santana & Ortiz:
The highly athletic duo picked up the win after delivering the Gin & Juice on Santana.

Chris Jericho got frustrated at Orange Cassidy who just sat on the commentary table without doing anything.

Kenny Omega and Hangman Page gave props to the Best Friends, who deserved a title shot but the ‘deserving’ tag goes away when they step in the ring with the champs.

Taz and Brian Cage cut a promo on Jon Moxley after their match got postponed to July 15th’s AEW Fight for the Fallen.

AEW World Tag Team Championships | Hangman Page & Kenny Omega(c) def. Best Friends:
The champs retained after Page delivered a Deadeye followed by Buckshot Lariat on Trent.

Post-match, FTR offered beer to the winner but Omega denied, which didn’t go down well. The Young Bucks rushed to the ring to calm things down as the show went off the air.
