Here are your WWE Friday Night SmackDown results from July 17, 2020. The Extreme Rules go-home episode featured Intercontinental Championship between AJ Styles and Matt Riddle, Alexa Bliss inviting a mystery guest to “A Moment of Bliss” and more.

WWE SmackDown Results:

The show kicked off with all the wrestlers hyping up the show, with AJ Styles and Matt Riddle dissing each other before their Intercontinental Championship Match.

Cesaro def. Big E:
Shinsuke Nakamura’s kick helped Cesaro to deliver the Neutralizer to Big E for the pinfall victory. Post-match, Cesaro and Nakamura tried to put Big E through the table again but Kofi Kingston made the save.

Backstage, King Corbin called Styles one of the best wrestlers ever and said that the champ will expose Matt Riddle in the main event later in the night.

Cesaro and Nakamura pondered over choosing a Tables Match or Steel Cage Match, before settling on the former for their Tag Team Championship match at Extreme Rules against The New Day.

Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross hosted “A Moment of Bliss”, but the duo were interrupted by Bayley and Sasha Banks. Bliss introduced her special guest, RAW Women’s Champion Asuka, who helped them fight off the heels.

Sasha Banks and Bayley def. Asuka and Nikki Cross:
The four women scheduled to compete in title matchups on Sunday participated in the tag team match, which saw Bayley pick up the win by rolling up Cross and using the ropes as the leverage.

John Morrison and The Miz did some comedy before Morrison’s match with Braun Strowman. Morrison looked terrified at the prospect of facing the Monster Among Men.

The Firefly Fun House saw Bray Wyatt talk about his disciple Strowman. Wyatt said that he must destroy the monster he himself created, at Extreme Rules.

Braun Strowman def. John Morrison:
Strowman cut an intense promo at the beginning of the match and vowed to end the devil before the demons get to him. The monstrous Strowman squashed Morrison, putting him down with the Running Powerslam for the win.

Lacey Evans def. Naomi:
Evans tied up Naomi’s hair on the ropes. Naomi managed to untie it but ran straight into a Women’s Right.

Jeff Hardy said he will take down Sheamus on Sunday, and isn’t afraid of losing his sobriety in the Bar Fight. Hardy also hinted at a possible Intercontinental Championship feud with AJ Styles, before Sheamus dropped him with the Brogue Kick.

Nikki Cross got frustrated backstage after Banks and Bayley’s comments and took down the duo. Bliss pulled away the infuriated Cross to end the segment.

Intercontinental Championship Match | AJ Styles(c) def. Matt Riddle:
A great match saw Styles retain the title after reversing a Bromission attempt by Riddle into a pin.

Post-match, the duo shook hands, before Corbin ambushed Riddle from behind. Corbin hit the End of Days to end the show.
