Here are your WWE SmackDown results from July 31, 2020. This week’s episode featured two major championship matches as well as a massive return from Mr. Money in the Bank, Otis.

WWE SmackDown Results:

The show opened with several pre-recorded promos from superstars like AJ Styles, Naomi and Miz-Morrison, who hyped up their upcoming segments.

Firefly Fun House returned with Bray Wyatt wondering if Braun Strowman is still at the bottom of the swamp. He promised that The Fiend won’t leave anyone alone until he gets back what is his.

Intercontinental Championship Match | AJ Styles(c) def. Gran Metalik:
The champ retained his title despite Metalik’s valiant efforts and applied the Calf Crusher for the win.

Post-match, Styles hit Lince Dorado with a cheap shot and gave him a Styles Clash for good measure.

King Corbin walked up to Shorty G and reminded him of his talents, asking him to join his team and take down Matt Riddle.

Jeff Hardy was congratulated by several members as he made his way to the ring. Hardy talked about overcoming his struggles before King Corbin interrupted him. Corbin said that no one cares about Hardy’s alcohol nonsense until he was attacked by Drew Gulak.

King Corbin def. Drew Gulak:
Corbin picked up the win over Gulak despite being interrupted by Matt Riddle. Corbin hit the End of Days for the three-count.

Post-match, Matt Riddle proceeded to attack Corbin, but Shorty G made the save for Corbin, turning heel for the first time in almost two years.

Big E def. The Miz:
Big E kicked off his singles career, as he took down the former WWE Champion. John Morrison’s ringside antics weren’t enough as E locked Miz in the Stretch Muffler submission to pick up the win.

Shinsuke Nakamura and Cesaro exchanged pleasantries backstage, as Lucha House Party walked up to them. The champions taunted them, teasing a possible feud for the tag titles.

Sheamus cut a promo, blaming himself for picking a bar for his match at Extreme Rules. He said Jeff works well when he is surrounded by alcohol. Sheamus sent out a notice to the entire locker room.

Naomi def. Lacey Evans:
The duo clashed once again, with Naomi picking up the win after rolling Evans up for the three count.

Mandy Rose and Otis returned to WWE programming, as they made plans for their next date. Rose went on to put some makeup, where she was blindsided by Sonya Deville. Deville went on to cut off some strands of Rose’s hair to end the segment.

SmackDown Women’s Championship Match | Bayley(c) def. Nikki Cross:
Cross was once again unsuccessful in picking up the win, as Bayley planted her on the mat to retain her title.

Post-match, Alexa Bliss consoled Cross, but she pushed her away and left the ring. The Fiend appeared and delivered a Mandible Claw to Bliss as a message to Braun Strowman.
