The NXT go-home episode before Takeover XXX featured two qualifier matches for the North American Title Ladder Match, Pat McAfee confronting Adam Cole, 6-man tag team match and more.

Johnny Gargano def. Ridge Holland: Gargano suffered a nasty looking bump during the match but recovered with Candice LeRae helping him out to win the match and qualify for the Ladder Match at Takeover XXX.

Dakota Kai def. Jessie Kamea: Kai warmed up for her title match on Saturday by taking down Kamea with the GTK.

Post-match, Kai had strong words for Io Shirai, who interrupted and brawled with the challenger. Racquel Gonzalez made her return and dropped Shirai, relentlessly attacking her to end the segment.

Tegan Nox expressed her surprise over Candice LeRae’s words in a backstage interview, and said she will be looking forward to settling the matters soon.

Legado del Fantasma def. Breezango and Isaiah ‘Swerve’ Scott: The heels picked up the win in the six-man tag after Cruiserweight Champion Santos Escobar hit the Phantom Driver on Tyler Breeze for the win.

Pat McAfee entered the ring for his face-to-face, with a few of his former NFL buddies. McAfee cut a great promo and said he made Cole look like an amateur. Cole beat down several of McAfee’s guards and stood tall with the Undisputed Era to close out the segment.

Rhea Ripley and Shotzi Blackheart def. Mercedes Martinez and Aliyah: A hard-hitting match saw the babyfaces prevail after a Senton from Blackheart onto Aliyah was enough for the three count.

Velveteen Dream def. Finn Balor: All the participants from the Ladder Match made an appearance in some fashion, with Timothy Thatcher attacking Balor, allowing Dream to secure the win.

Post-match, all the competitors brawled, with Bronson Reed standing tall to end the show.
