This week’s NXT from Full Sail opened with the NXT Title defense between Adam Cole and #1 Contender Finn Balor.

NXT Championship: Adam Cole(c) def. Finn Balor: The two cornerstones of NXT left it all in the ring to rightfully acquire the gold. Having knocked Cole out with a Coup de Grace, victory seemed within reach for The Prince who then proceeded for 1916. Johnny Gargano‘s surprise return allowed Cole to subdue a distracted Balor with a low blow and Last Shot for the win.

Post-match, Gargano assaulted Balor with a steel chair until the latter could escape through the live crowd.

Damian Priest def. Killian Dain: Priest countered Dain’s Vader Bomb with his knees and immediately bounced back with the Reckoning to pick up the victory.

Cameron Grimes def. Kushida: Kushida’s mind games didn’t work on Grimes as the latter survived the flurry of offense and counters and delivered a Cave-In to score a surprise victory.

Io Shirai def. Santana Garrett: In a highly athletic matchup, Shirai made Garrett look like a million bucks before connecting on the moonsault for the win.

Pete Dunne def. Travis Banks: Strength vs speed, Dunne gained the upper hand early on to limit Banks’ swiftness between the ropes. Banks almost had the match won by reversing The Bitter End into a DDT followed by a Kiwi Crusher for a two-count. The Bruiserweight recovered and delivered a super X-Plex to set Banks up for his finisher.

NXT Women’s Championship: Rhea Ripley def. Shayna Baszler(c): Ripley took Jessamyn Duke and Marina Shafir out at ringside but the distraction allowed Baszler to stomp her left hand into the steel steps. The referee went down but recovered just in time for Ripley’s decisive Avalanche Riptide to Baszler.

Post-match, fans rushed to the ring to celebrate newly crowned NXT Women’s Champion Ripley’s title victory. Baszler’s 415-day reign is over, ladies and gentlemen.
