Velveteen Dream Interrupts Undisputed Era: The Undisputed ERA opened the show to celebrate Adam Cole’s title victory over Tommaso Ciampa at TakeOver: Portland. The NXT Champion put over Roderick Strong and promised he would crush Velveteen Dream. The lights dimmed down and Dream’s logo appeared on the big screen. The lights went back up and a furious Strong vowed to punish Dream as all four stablemates made their exit.
NXT Cruiserweight Championship | Jordan Devlin def. Lio Rush: An exciting matchup with a predictable outcome nonetheless, Jordan Devlin struggled to put Lio Rush away till he delivered The Devil Inside (Devlin Side) to barely retain his title.
Backstage: Jon Quasto interviewed Dakota Kai and Raquel Gonzalez about Raquel assisting Kai to win the Street Fight against Tegan Nox at TakeOver: Portland. Kai declared that they’re untouchable as a team and General Manager William Regal booked Nox vs. Kai for a Steel Cage match for the March 4th episode of NXT.
Tommaso Ciampa Promo: Austin Theory walked out to his music but Tommaso Ciampa marched to the ring during the former’s entrance. Ciampa asked Theory to back off and cut an intense promo on Johnny Gargano costing him the NXT Title match at TakeOver: Portland. Theory made an attempt to grab Ciampa only to be on the receiving end of Blackheart’s offense.
Ciampa resumed his promo and declared that there could be no Gargano in NXT if he’s to get Goldie back. The former champion made his exit as Theory went after him; an angry Ciampa absolutely decimated Theory before heading to the back.
The Grizzled Young Veterans def. Raul Mendoza & Joaquin Wilde: James Drake and Zack Gibson delivered a Ticket To Mayhem to Raul Mendoza for the pin to win.
The Broserweights def. Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch: Matt Riddle and Pete Dunne cut a hilarious celebration promo prior to their match; The OG Bro joked that the Stallion Cup or Dusty Trophy had partied too hard in Portland and ended up getting suspended for 30 days for failing a WWE Wellness Policy.
The new NXT Tag Team Champions made quick work of Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch to ensure their victory; the Riddle End, knee strike and Bitter End combo knocked Lorcan’s lights out as Matt covered his opponent for the pinfall.
Keith Lee def. Kona Reeves: Reigning NXT North American Champion Keith Lee leveled Kona Reeves with a Pounce before the match began and hit a Big Bang Catastrophe after the bell to score the quick squash victory.
Post-match Dominik Dijakovic hit the ring and had a verbal exchange; Blackzilla asked Dijakovic to convince William Regal for a rematch down the line.
Chelsea Green def. Kayden Carter: Midway through the match, Bianca Belair hit the ring all of a sudden and issued a challenge to Charlotte Flair. The EST left and Chelsea Green tried to take advantage with a roll-up for a two-count. Robert Stone’s crucial assistance at the right moment allowed Green to hit the Unprettier on Kayden Carter for the pin to win.
The Velveteen Dream def. Roderick Strong: The returning Velveteen Dream played mind games right off the bat and took out the entire Undisputed ERA stable to even the odds. Dream overcame Roderick Strong’s offense and flaunted his tights with Marina Shafir’s face painted on the front of them. A Dream Valley Driver sealed Strong’s fate and earned the young athlete his first victory since September.
Post-match, all four members of the Undisputed ERA banged up and decimated the victorious Dream.
