NXT Results and Highlights

  • This week’s show opened with the first NXT Breakout Tournament Semifinal match between Jordan Myles and Angel Garza. Myles defeated Garza after delivering a dead-lift German Suplex.
  • Video Promo: Johnny Gargano announced the stipulation for the first fall of the 2-out-of-3 falls NXT Championship Match against Adam Cole at NXT TakeOver: Toronto will be a Street Fight.
  • Bianca Belair defeated Xia Li in a Women’s Singles Match. Belair attacked Li immediately after the bell. Li tried to fight back but had already suffered enough damage by then. Belair delivered a Kiss of Death to secure the win.
  • Mia Yim attacked Jessamin Duke at the Performance Center and slammed a locker door into her shoulder.
  • NXT North American Champion Velveteen Dream came to the ring to cut a promo. Undisputed Era’s Roderick Strong interrupted and challenged Dream for a match at TakeOver: Toronto. Both of them were interrupted by the returning former United Kingdom champion Pete Dunne and got a huge pop from the crowd. Dunne snapped Strong’s fingers and set his eyes on the title. The champion backed down and walked away.
  • Backstage: General Manager William Regal announced a Triple Threat Match for the North American Championship at TakeOver: Toronto (Strong vs Dunne vs Dream)
  • Kacy Catanzaro vs Io Shirai ended in a disqualification after Candice LeRae rushed to the ring and attacked Shirai for last month’s betrayal.
  • Video Promo: Adam Cole chose a “classic wrestling match” as the stipulation for the second fall of the 2-out-of-3 falls NXT Championship Match at TakeOver: Toronto, against Gargano.
  • NXT Main Event: Damien Priest defeated Keith Lee after delivering the Reckoning. Priest’s raw athleticism was on display early, as was Keith Lee’s unmatched strength, as they battled in a heavyweight main event.
