NXT Results and Highlights

  • This week’s NXT episode started with a match between Tyler Breeze and Jackson Ryker. Breeze defeated Ryker with a roll-up victory. A returning Fandango rushed to the ring and cleared house and gets a pop from the crowd who were thrilled to see the reunion of Breezango.
  • Breakout Tournament Semifinals 2: Cameron Grimes defeated Bronson Reed with a devastating double-foot stomp. Even though Reed was a behemoth and had the size advantage, Grimes’ tactical offenses helped him secure the win. Grimes will now face Jordan Myles for an NXT championship opportunity.
  • Matt Riddle was shown returning from a training session, in a video package, where he asked Killian Dane to fight him face-to-face instead of ambushing him from behind.
  • Shayna Baszler accepted Mia Yim‘s challenge for a championship match at TakeOver: Toronto and promised to make short work of The Head Baddie in Charge. Yim came to the ring and responded by saying she will bring the fight to the champ.
  • NXT General Manager William Regal granted Candice LeRae a match against Io Shirai at TakeOver: Toronto
  • Pete Dunne defeated Roderick Strong with a finger snap submission maneuver. Dunne now has a psychological advantage before their triple threat title match at TakeOver: Toronto. Post-match, NXT North American champion Velveteen Dream tried to sneak attack Dunne from behind but ended up receiving a finger snap and Bitter End from the Bruiserweight.
