The NXT star along with Tyler Bate rescued Johnny Gargano from a brutal backstage attack at WWE Worlds Collide this past Saturday and The Prince considered it necessary to teach the British Superstars a lesson.
Balor launched Seven face-first into the turnbuckles and delivered a missile dropkick. The former NXT Champion followed it up with a Coup de Grace and 1916 for the pin to win.
Shotzi Blackheart def. Deonna Purrazzo: Shotzi caught Deonna with a Lungblower and performed a top-rope Denton splash on her opponent to pick up the victory.
Post-match, Shotzi celebrated her victory before leaving in her mini-tank.
Damian Priest and Dominik Djakovic confront Keith Lee: New NXT North American Champion Keith Lee walked out to the ring and addressed the fans who greeted him with “you deserve it” chants. Blackzilla was about to reveal his plans for the immediate future just when Damian Priest interrupted him and demanded his title.
Priest was cut short by Dominik Dijakovic who claimed himself to be the worthy challenger to Lee’s title. Both men had a verbal face-off before The Punishment landed a punch on Dijak’s face to set up the match.
Dominik Dijakovic def. Damian Priest: Priest’s top-rope Poison Rana earned him a mere nearfall as Dijakovic blocked The Reckoning and fired back with a Torture Rack followed by Feast Your Eyes to score the pinfall victory.
Backstage: Cathy Kelley informed Tommaso Ciampa about William Regal’s upcoming announcement of NXT Champion Adam Cole’s “Takeover: Portland” opponent later tonight. The Psycho Killer declared that Goldie will return home on February 16 and “Daddy” will ensure that tonight as he struck a pipe against the wall and headed his way.
Back from commercial, The Undisputed Era’s Roderick Strong, Bobby Fish and Kylie O’Reilly are all shown laid out unconscious backstage as Ciampa walked past them and dropped his pipe, making it apparent that he’s the one to take out the trio. The former NXT Champion grabbed a table and walked out to the ring sporting a ripped shirt as fans burst out into “Daddy’s home!” chants.
Ciampa vs. Cole made official: Ciampa set up his X-marked table in the ring as medics tended to the Undisputed Era backstage. Cole questioned officials about the mishap before heading out to the arena and bashing Ciampa who called himself “Goldie’s Daddy”.
Both men had a heated exchange of words and dared one another. General Manager William Regal showed up with the contract and Cole put himself over with a quick promo. No sooner had he entered the ring than a brawl ensued; Ciampa leveled Cole’s cheap shot with the NXT Title and powerbombed him through the table.
Bleeding, Ciampa signed the contract and responded to the crowd’s “use the blood!” chants by wiping his blood all over the contract as well as the title.
Adam Cole vs. Tommaso Ciampa for the NXT Championship is official for NXT TakeOver: Portland.
Tegan Nox def. Dakota Kai: A video of Dakota Kai turning on Tegan Nox at WarGames is shown shortly before the match as The Girl With The Shiniest Wizard waited for her opponent in the ring.
