This week’s episode of NXT featured a Triple Threat match in the main event, to decide who will join Bronson Reed in a Ladder Match at NXT Takeover XXX for the vacant North American title.

Io Shirai and Tegan Nox def. Dakota Kai and Candice LeRae:
The show opened with familiar rivals facing off, as Nox and champion Shirai picked up the win after a moonsault from Shirai on LeRae. Kai walked out on LeRae during the matchup.

Tom Phillips led to a recap of the things that unfolded between Pat McAfee and Adam Cole on McAfee’s podcast.

Johnny Gargano def. Roderick Strong:
The two heels faced off in singles action, with Gargano coming out on top after hitting Strong with One Final Beat DDT.

Dakota Kai talked about the opening match and said she doesn’t want to be a team player anymore. Kai declared herself as the No.1 contender before Rhea Ripley interrupted her and wanted Shirai for herself.

The Undisputed Era was seen together backstage, and said they will rise back to the top once again.

Mercedes Martinez def. Shotzi Blackheart:
The newest member of the Robert Stone Brand picked up the victory after a huge German Suplex followed by a slam into the mat for the three count.

A furious Keith Lee called out Karrion Kross for his ruthless attack on Dijakovic. Cameron Grimes interrupted him but he was manhandled by the NXT Champion. Scarlett appeared on the ramp and pointed to Kross from the big screen, who demanded a title opportunity. Lee asked him to name a time and place as he accepted the challenge.

Imperium def. Ever-Rise:
The tag team champions picked up an easy victory over their opponents with the European Bomb in the non-title match.

Post-match, The Undisputed Era hit the ring and destroyed the duo, as Adam Cole reminded the fans that they run the show.

Isaiah Swerve Scott def. Jake Atlas:
Scott picked up the victory in the matchup between two cruiserweights, hitting a House Call followed by JML driver for the win.

Damien Priest talked about his match against Oney Lorcan and NXT UK star Ridge Holland next week and said he will easily win and go on to capture the North American Championship at Takeover XXX.

Dexter Lumis def. Timothy Thatcher and Finn Balor:
Lumis locked in a submission on Thatcher, who was holding Balor in a submission himself. Thatcher passed out, resulting in Lumis picking up the win. Lumis joins Bronson Reed in a Ladder Match at NXT Takeover XXX for the vacant NXT North American Championship.
