WWE NXT Results and Highlights

NXT North American Championship Match | Keith Lee def. Cameron Grimes: This week’s episode of the yellow brand show opened with a title match, as Grimes challenged Lee. After a fairly decent encounter for a TV match-up, Lee hoisted up Grimes for the Big Bang Catastrophe for the win.

Post-match, Damien Priest attacked Lee with a baton, before Dominik Dijakovic saved the day. Dijakovic picked up the title, but a dazed Lee delivered a Spirit Bomb to his friend.

Mia Yim def. Dakota Kai: The second spot for the No.1 Contender Ladder Match at Takeover: Tampa was taken up by Yim after she pinned Kai following the Protect Ya Neck. Reina Gonzalez tried to help Kai, but it backfired. Post-match, Gonzalez hit a chokeslam on Yim.

Kushida def. Raul Mendoza: Kushida and Mendonza battled in a fast-paced matchup, as the two individuals went at each other’s throats from the time the bell rang. Kushida applied a Kimura, followed by the cross arm breaker, and Mendonza tapped out.

Video Promo: Tyler Breeze readied himself for an interview in a pre-taped video, but he was interrupted by the new NXT star, Austin Theory. Theory introduced himself to Breeze and the two gentlemen traded verbal jabs.

The Queen brawls with the Champion: NXT Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley made her entrance and talked about beating Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania. Flair interrupted Ripley and was greeted with ‘go back to RAW’ chants by those in attendance. A brawl ensued as Flair landed a kick, and went for the Figure Eight. Ripley countered but was eventually put in the Figure Four around the ring-post, as the officials tried to break the hold.

We get a feature on NXT UK Champion WALTER, in which a match against Finn Balor is teased. Backstage, two men got out of an SUV and abducted Raul Mendoza.

Tegan Nox def. Deonna Puzzaro: The match looked to be going in Puzarro’s favor before Nox found her feet and gained the upper hand. Nox hit the Shiniest Wizard to qualify for the Ladder Match at Takeover.

The Dream interrupts TUE: The Undisputed Era made their entrance for a tag-team match but were interrupted by The Velveteen Dream. The Dream cut a promo from the nest perched above the Performance Center. Dream and Cole exchanged words, hyping their possible matchup at Takeover: Tampa.

NXT Tag Team Championship Match | Matt Riddle and Pete Dunne(c) def. The Undisputed Era: A largely fun encounter saw the Broserweights retain their titles against the most dominant team of NXT. Cole and Roderick Strong tried to help their team-mates, but Dunne pulled an Eddie Guerrero to get rid of them. A distraction from Grizzled Young Vets, helped the champion hit O’Reilly with knee strikes and pin him for the win.

The brawl of the Frenemies: Tommaso Ciampa cut a promo in the ring, demanding to know the reason behind Gargano’s betrayal. Gargano appeared from backstage and called Ciampa the worst in NXT history, causing Ciampa to head to the back. A brawl ensued all over the PC, and Ciampa and Gargano tried to murder each other with some of the most devastating moves.

The finish saw Ciampa drive Gargano through the announce table from the perch above it, as the fans chanted holy s**t. The show ended with both the individuals laid out as the officials checked on them.
