WWE NXT Results and Highlights

Steel Cage Match | Dakota Kai def. Tegan Nox: Dakota Kai and Tegan Nox kicked off the first match of the night with Raquel Gonzalez watching from ringside. Kai nailed Nox with a scorpion kick to prevent her opponent from escaping the cage.

Gonzalez came over and shut the door; Nox dodged a running kick and Kai ended up accidentally kicking the door, sending Gonzalez down to the ground.

The finish saw Nox climbing out of the cage as Gonzalez desperately tried to drag Kai out of the steel structure; Gonzalez quickly slammed the door on Nox, thereby pinning her against the cage wall. The Girl With The Shiniest Wizard wasted no time in escaping the cage, thus scoring yet another victory over Lady Kane who was trapped between the cage and the door by the hard-hitting Texan.

Finn Balor Promo: In a pre-recorded video package, Finn Balor addressed last week’s beatdown at the hands of Imperium’s Fabian Aichner and Marcel Barthel. The Prince thanked NXT UK Champion WALTER for forcing his hand this time and issued him a warning.

Rhea Ripley Promo: In a pre-recorded video, NXT Women’s’ Champion Rhea Ripley addressed the WWE Universe from the Raymond James Stadium, the site for WrestleMania 36. Ripley hyped her title defense against Charlotte Flair and vowed to beat The Queen on April 5th.

Qualifier for the #1 Contender’s Ladder Match at Takeover Tampa | Chelsea Green def. Shotzi Blackheart: Chelsea Green, representing The Robert Stone Brand, was the crowd favorite as she scored a couple of two-counts on Shotzi Blackheart before nailing an Unprettier for the 1-2-3.

Keith Lee vs. Cameron Grimes announced for next week: The announcers mentioned Dominik Dijakovic being sidelined with a knee sprain courtesy of the sneak attack from Damian Priest last week. NXT North American Champion Keith Lee walked out and addressed the Superstars eyeing his title but before he could finish, the music hit and out came Cameron Grimes amidst “no one likes you!” chants.

The boos only got louder as Grimes began ranting on the mic. The Carolina Caveman finally announced that General Manager William Regal had booked him in a title match with Lee for next week’s show. Grimes never got to finish as he was thrown out of the ring with a powerful shove from Blackzilla.

The Undisputed Era def. Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch: Both teams enjoyed a constant shift in momentum throughout the match, making the competitive bout seem like it could go either way. Oney Lorcan ran from corner to corner on Bobby Fish and Kyle O’Reilly and would’ve hit a home run but the former NXT tag team champions exploded out of the corners and hit the double team High Low combo finisher out of nowhere to score the pinfall victory.

Post-match, The Undisputed Era cut a promo to challenge reigning NXT Tag Team Champions, The BroserWeights, to a rematch. Matt Riddle and Pete Dunne walked out on stage to entertain the idea, only to get blindsided by The Grizzled Young Veterans.

Austin Theory def. Isiah “Swerve” Scott: Austin Theory yelled out in pain and tried to power out of the submission hold as Isiah Scott landed a big kick to snap his arm. Theory broke free by raking the eyes of Scott and followed up with the Austin Theory Launch for the pin to win.

Johnny Gargano issues a warning: Mauro Ranallo’s sitdown interview with Johnny Gargano didn’t go as expected – on being asked to explain his heel turn on Tommaso Ciampa, Gargano became aggressive and began yelling at Ranallo. Gargano’s antics made the commentator uncomfortable as the latter turned to the film crew and hurriedly left. Johnny continued his tantrums and issued a warning to Ciampa for next week’s NXT from the WWE Performance Center.

Steel Cage Match | Roderick Strong def. The Velveteen Dream: The Undisputed Era members, namely, Adam Cole, Bobby Fish, and Kyle O’Reilly attempted to enter the cage as Roderick Strong and The Velveteen Dream tore each other apart. A Dream Valley Driver knocked Strong out cold as Velveteen made his way to the top only to jump back to the mat as Cole, Fish, and Reilly came down with weapons.

Dream used the kendo stick (provided by Marina Shafir) to lay waste to The Undisputed Era and surprisingly shoved Strong from the door to the floor to end the match. Dream then locked himself inside with Cole and beat the crap out of the reigning NXT Champion.
