With Halloween Havoc set for next week, NXT had the final build for the special episode on this week’s broadcast.
Kushida def. Tommaso Ciampa and Velveteen Dream
After weeks of tussling with Ciampa and Dream, Kushida took on both the heels in a triple threat matchup. A long and hard-fought match saw all the three competitors hit their signature moves, but Kushida reigned supreme in the end with a German Suplex to Ciampa for the three-count.
Backstage: The Undisputed Era geared up for their Tag Team Championship Matchup for later, as Adam Cole checked in from the comfort of his home.
Ember Moon def. Jessi Kamea
Moon continued her solid return to NXT in her conquest to reach the top, as she had an easy win over Kamea with a unique submission maneuver in the middle of the ring. Post-match, Dakota Kai blindsided Moon and laid her out.
Backstage: Bobby Fish was attacked by an anonymous person, as Strong and O’Reilly checked in on him. This comes after a mysterious person paid Ridge Holland to attack Adam Cole at Takeover XXX.
Bronson Reed def. Austin Theory (Twice)
Austin Theory’s woes continued in his second stint on the brand as Reed defeated him after hitting the Tsunami Splash from the top rope. Post-match, a frustrated Theory asked for a rematch, which was gladly accepted by Reed.
Theory unloaded on Reed but the much larger frame of Reed was too much for the 23-year old, who took another loss after being hit with a Samoan Drop.
Backstage: Xia Li thanked Kacy Catanzaro for agreeing to wrestle against her later in the night. Li said that this is the most important match of her life.
Legado del Fantasma def. Isaiah ‘Swerve’ Scott, Jake Atlas, and Ashante “Thee” Adonis
Scott’s struggles against the heel faction continued as he brought in his new friends to take on the villainous stable. Despite their valiant efforts, Escobar and his men prevailed after Wilde and Mendonza delivered a double team maneuver on Adonis for the pinfall.
Backstage: The Garganos had a mock Wheel of Fortune at their home, with Johnny getting a Buried Alive and a Casket Match. LeRae’s wheel landed on Trick or Street Fight and she seemed confident in that matchup.
Ever Rise def. Killian Dain and Drake Maverick by DQ
The goofy team of Dain and Drake took on Ever Rise. Parker applied a single-legged Crab on Dain in the ring as Martel and Drake tussled at ringside. Drake snapped and hit Martel with a chair, before entering the ring and breaking the submission with the chair. Killian Dain looked proud of his team-mate as the duo’s chemistry increased.
Backstage: Kyle O’Reilly spoke with William Regal and asked him to let Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch take their spot in the Tag Team Championship match against Breezango.
Kacy Catanzaro def. Xia Li
Li tried her best in what was the most important match of her career, but Catanzaro emerged victorious with a roll-up in the middle of the ring.
Post-match, Li attacked Catanzaro and seemed furious, before Raquel Gonzalez entered the scene and destroyed everyone in sight. Gonzalez took the mic and sent out a warning to Rhea Ripley ahead of their match at Halloween Havoc next week.
Backstage: Cameron Grimes was terrified after hearing his match against Lumis is a Haunted House of Terror Match but kept up his confidence.
Timothy Thatcher def. Andrew
Timothy Thatcher had a live session of his submission class inside the ring, and he took it too far with a student named Andrew. Andrew got aggressive with Thatcher who called for a referee.
Thatcher picked up an easy win over his student with the single-legged crab and refused to let go of the hold despite his opponent tapping out.
NXT Tag Team Championship: Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch def. Breezango (c)
The two teams went at it in the makeshift matchup, with Lorcan and Burch finally becoming champions for the first time. The finish saw a masked man drop Fandango, leading to Burch hitting Breeze with a low-blow followed by him and Lorcan hitting a double team finisher for the title win.
Post-match, the masked man was revealed to be Pat McAfee, making his return to NXT after his loss at Takeover XXX.
