An action-packed installment of NXT from Full Sail University saw several matchups with high implications as the build for NXT War Games continued.

Event: WWE NXT
Date: October 23, 2019
Location: Full Sail University, Orlando, FL

Rhea Ripley defeated Bianca Belair: Fans were behind both the superstars in the opening match of the night. Io Shirai attacked Ripley during the match, but Candice LeRae made the save. Ripley delivered a Riptide for the win.

With this win, Ripley is unofficially confirmed to be the next challenger for Shayna Baszler’s NXT Women’s Championship. Ripley has won the NXT UK Women’s Title in the past and looks the best option to take the title off of the former MMA superstar.

Backstage, Pete Dunne and Tyler Bate promised to take revenge for Damien Priest’s actions from last week. Dunne said he isn’t concerned about the threat of Killian Dain.

Matt Riddle defeated Cameron Grimes: Cameron Grimes’ recent win-streak came to a screeching halt as Riddle took him down for the win. After the match, Riddle went for a fist bump which Grimes refused. Tyler Bate, sitting in the first row, got into a confrontation with Grimes.

Breezango and Issiah Scott defeated The Forgotten Sons: Breezango brought in Scott to replace the injured Kushida. After an entertaining back and forth, Scott delivered a huge kick to Wesley Blake for the victory.

Backstage, Killian Dain promised to break Pete Dunne and take revenge for Dunne’s actions from last week.

Angel Garza defeated Jack Gallagher: NXT Cruiserweight Champion Lio Rush was on commentary as Garza defeated Gallagher with a Springboard Moonsault. After the match, Garza pointed to Rush’s title, teasing a future feud between the two.

Tegan Nox and Dakota Kai defeated Marina Shafir and Jessamyn Duke: Nox and Kai took down the members of the Four Horsewomen of MMA, to earn a title shot against the Kabuki Warriors next week. Nox delivered the Shiniest Wizard on Duke for the win.

The Kabuki Warriors appeared on the big screen and taunted the babyfaces. WWE pushing the Kabuki Warriors by giving them chances to showcase their skills on different brands is great to see. The main roster lacks proper tag-teams currently, and hence, giving the Japanese duo a run in NXT doesn’t seem like a bad idea.

NXT North American Championship – Roderick Strong defeated Dominik Dijakovic and Keith Lee: The three superstars delivered a fantastic main-event to end the evening. Dijakovic and Lee continued their epic rivalry and delivered moves which are usually seen on 205 Live. Strong took advantage to deliver a flying boot to Lee for the win.

Strong celebrated with the rest of the Undisputed Era, before he was interrupted by Tommaso Ciampa. Johnny Gargano joined Ciampa as DIY reunite for a major pop. Finn Balor joined the duo as the fans went wild. TUE and Balor/DIY faced off, before Balor turned heel and landed a big kick on Gargano. TUE attacked Ciampa while Balor focused on Gargano. Balor noded to The Undisputed Era as they posed in the ring.

NXT did what the main roster never did, and pulled the trigger on Balor’s heel turn. Balor and TUE could team up against DIY, Keith Lee, Velveteen Dream and Dominik Dijakovic at War Games.
