<p><strong>Backstage: </strong>CM Punk talked to Trick Williams about being the referee for Williams&#8217; title match against NXT Champion Ethan Page next week and told him that they will see who the best man is during the match and vowed not to play favorites.</p>



<p><strong>The Grayson Waller Effect: </strong>Grayson Waller and Austin Theory tried to imply that there is friction between the NXT Tag Team Champions. Nathan Frazer and Axiom turned the tables and asked why Theory is not in the title of “The Grayson Waller Effect.” Theory seemed troubled by this but Waller delivered a cheap shot to Frazer. Theory took down Axiom and the segment ended with the challengers posing with the tag titles ahead of their title match next week.</p>

<p>King almost won the match by putting his feet on the ropes during a pin attempt but stopped himself and declared he wouldn’t win that way. Mensah took advantage of King&#8217;s momentary hesitation to roll him up. Mensah himself put his feet on the ropes to keep King down for three count.</p>

<p>Osborne tried to get the advantage by ambushing Holland during his entrance. Holland still proved too much for the younger wrestler; however, catching Osborn with an implant DDT to get the pin and win. </p>



<p>Post-match, Holland continued to attack Osborne, but Thea Hail was able to distract Holland and Osborne hit him with Air Sabu. They were eventually separated by security and the referees.</p>

<p>Nathan Frazer and Axiom were at ringside during the match. Frazer tried to confront Waller several times, with Axiom trying to stop him. Frazer jumped onto the apron, with Axiom pulling him off. However, this shook the top rope where Evans was perched. He lost his balance, and Waller hit him with his finisher. Theory then tagged himself in and hit his own finisher before pinning him for the three-count.</p>
