WWE NXT Results, September 8: New Champion Crowned, Steel Cage Match

The second edition of WWE NXT Super Tuesday aired this week with two major matches headlining the night.

NXT Championship: Finn Balor def. Adam Cole

The show kicked off with the match for the vacant title. Balor and Cole produced a fantastic encounter with Balor coming out on top with the avalanche 1916.

Backstage: Balor celebrated with several NXT personnel, including a Too Sweet moment with Adam Cole.

Robert Stone Gets Destroyed, Again

Aliyah and Robert Stone tried to destroy Shotzi Blackheart’s tank but Blackheart caught them.

Blackheart was joined by NXT Women’s Champion Io Shirai as the two beat-up Stone and Aliyah. There was some tension between Shirai and Shotzi to end the segment.

Backstage: Timothy Thatcher analyzed Damien Priest’s moves ahead of their match next week.

The Velveteen Dream def. Ashante “Thee” Adonis

The former Tehuti Miles made his debut under a new name and was easily put away by Dream, with the Dream Valley Driver for the win.

Post-match, Kushida laid down a major assault on Dream, taking revenge for Dream’s actions a few weeks ago.

Backstage: Nox and LeRae continued to put the blame on each other for breaking up the friendship, as LeRae explained how she unleashed a darker side of herself.

Bronson Reed def. Austin Theory

Theory’s return match was spoiled by the Colossal Reed, who picked up the win a huge Tsunami Splash from the top.

Backstage: Adam Cole said he will come back for the NXT title and the result won’t be the same for Balor.

Roderick Strong def. Killian Dain

With some help from his Undisputed Era buddy Bobby Fish, Strong defeated the Irish star. Strong hit a knee to Dain for the three-count.

Post-match, Drake Maverick saved Dain from an assault, but Dain dropped Maverick and made his exit.

A Dinner Party

Earlier in the show, Tegan Nox was seen visiting the Gargano’s for dinner in order to make up with Candice LeRae.

Things got heated at Gargano’s as Nox and LeRae threw food at each other. LeRae broke the TV set when she tried to hit Nox who ran away from the house.

Backstage: Damian Priest called Timothy Thatcher ugly and invited the interviewer to a party after his win next week.

Steel Cage Match: Rhea Ripley def. Mercedes Martinez

In an intense encounter filled with aggressive action, the former NXT Women’s Champion came out on top after delivering a Riptide from the top of the cage onto a table for the pinfall victory.
