WWE Raw Results and Highlights

Randy Orton Addressed The WWE Universe: After brutalising the returning Edge last week, Randy Orton opened this week’s show as he walked down to the ring to address his shocking actions. Tom Phillips informed that Edge had undergone a battery of tests and is currently recovering at home; the Rated R Superstar will provide an update next week.

Orton clarified that the WWE Universe deserves an explanation, only to stutter a few times and declare that he can’t do this, thereafter putting the mic down and leaving.

Liv Morgan def. Lana: The saga between Liv Morgan and Lana continued as the former Riott Squad member scored a victory over The Ravishing Russian for the second week in a row.

Post-match, the returning Ruby Riott graced the ring as Liv proceeded to greet her former stablemate with a hug. Riott unleashed a shocking assault on Morgan and completely destroyed her old buddy as Lana watched with an evil grin. Riott left Morgan at Lana’s mercy who quickly delivered a Sit-Out Facebuster to the downed blonde Superstar.

Drew McIntyre def. Mojo Rawley: McIntyre cut a brief promo to thank fans for making it to the show through the blizzard before turning his focus on WWE Champion Brock Lesnar who attacked him previous week. The Sexy Scotsman vowed to dethrone Lesnar at WrestleMania 36 and pointed to the big sign to play to the crowd.

McIntyre backed up the promise he made earlier by defeating 24/7 Champion Mojo Rawley off a Claymore Kick in just 3 seconds to pick up a quick non-title victory.

6-Man Elimination Match | Buddy Murphy & AOP def. Kevin Owens & The Viking Raiders: A highly-physical matchup featuring the elimination of Ivar, Buddy Murphy and Akam, things boiled down to Kevin Owens and Rezar with Seth Rollins rallying at ringside as the uneliminated Erik lay motionless.

Rezar planted Owens with two consecutive Spinebusters to pick up the victory for his team, thus extending their dominance over the babyface forces even further.

Aleister Black def. Eric Young: Aleister Black continued his winning streak by knocking Eric Young out with a Black Mass for the pin to win.

Post-match, Black sat down in the middle of the ring and cut a promo to inform everyone that he is coming for the entire RAW locker room.

Announcement: Goldberg will return to Friday Night SmackDown this week.

Rey Mysterio def. Angel Garza via Disqualification: Zelina Vega accompanied Humberto Carrillo’s cousin Angel Garza to the ring as her business partner Andrade continues to serve his 30-day suspension period. Vega slapped Humberto and the debuting Garza unloaded on his cousin before subduing him with a Wing Clipper. The former Cruiserweight Champion launched Carrillo into the steel steps as Zelina exposed the concrete to set up yet another brutal takedown of the helpless Superstar.

Rey Mysterio ran down to the young Luchador’s aid to set up a match with Garza.

Garza stripped away his pants and tossed them at Mr. 619 to take him down; the Mexican made a mockery of the veteran with his disrespectful attitude and unloaded on him. Mysterio fought his way back and planted the NXT Superstar with a DDT to turn the tide in his favor but his momentum didn’t last long as the RAW debutant delivered a big knee to score a nearfall.

Vega saved Garza from a 619 but a furious Mysterio quickly leaped out to take him down and thereafter got engaged in a heated verbal exchange with Vega as Garza took advantage of the distraction and blindsided the masked legend. The former Cruiserweight Champion launched Mysterio into the barrier before planting him with the Hammerlock DDT on the exposed concrete which caused the referee to call the match off.

Charlotte Flair & Rhea Ripley Made WrestleMania Tease: Charlotte Flair cut a brief promo to inform the WWE Universe of her opponent at WrestleMania 36. She stated that she has beaten both reigning champions Becky Lynch and Bayley and held the RAW and SmackDown Women’s Championships multiple times. However, as 10-time Women’s Champion she wants all the gold and turned her attention to the NXT Women’s Title.

NXT Champion Rhea Ripley walked out to her music and informed that Flair is yet to beat her. As a matter of fact, Ripley had actually beaten The Queen in the past. Both women posed for a quick staredown as Flair exit the ring with the WrestleMania tease been made.

Asuka def. Natalya: A distraction from Kairi Sane allowed Asuka to apply her iconic submission hold on Natalya who helplessly tapped out to The Empress.

Post-match, Asuka made a rant about Becky Lynch only to be interrupted by the RAW Women’s Champion herself who apparently agreed to a Royal Rumble rematch next week on RAW. Sane attempted to blindside The Man but was sent packing instead. Lynch made her exit in style as Asuka trash-talked from the ring.

#1 Contender’s Match For WWE Championship | Ricochet def. Seth Rollins and Bobby Lashley: Assistance from Buddy Murphy and AOP allowed Seth Rollins to glide closer to victory but Kevin Owens and Erik joined the party to ruin The Monday Night Messiah’s chances of winning. With the numbers leveled, Ricochet performed a sensational 630 Senton on Lashley to clinch the hard-fought victory and crown himself the new #1 Contender for the WWE Title.

Post-match, Brock Lesnar rushed to the ring and destroyed Ricochet with a devastating F-5 to end the show. The Beast has been confirmed for a title defense against The One And Only at the Saudi Arabian PPV on February 27th.

Takeaways from Monday Night Raw

1. Ruby Riott’s Return

Ruby Riott returned to RAW after being on the sidelines since April last year, the former NXT star looked as though she had returned to reunite with her former Riott Squad teammate Liv Morgan, but instead, Riott attacked Morgan and left her as easy prey for Lana at the top of the show.

Riott is yet to reveal a motive behind her actions but it appears that a new look isn’t the only thing that Riott has returned to WWE with since she also has a fresh single-minded attitude.

2. Ricochet vs Brock Lesnar

WWE travels to Saudi Arabia for the fifth time at the end of the month and one of the matches that will now take place in the Middle East will see Ricochet challenge Brock Lesnar for the WWE Championship.

Ricochet has never gone one-on-one with The Beast, but after the events of recent weeks, the duo definitely has history and given the fact that Lesnar struggles when he’s in the ring with men smaller than him, could WWE’s resident superhero be Brock Lesnar’s Kryptonite?

3. Charlotte Flair vs Rhea Ripley

Charlotte Flair is a 10-time Women’s Champion, she’s already main evented WrestleMania and held almost every Championship available to the women who are part of the company. The Queen arguably didn’t need to win the Royal Rumble, but last weekend’s win means that she had to challenge a Champion at WrestleMania in April.

This week on RAW, Rhea Ripley crashed Flair’s announcement when she came out and made it clear that The Queen had never beaten her and that she should be the name at the top of her list. Charlotte is still yet to accept the challenge from The Nightmare.

4. Angel Garza’s RAW Debut

Angel Garza dropped the NXT Cruiserweight Championship to Jordan Devlin last weekend and now he’s part of the Monday Night RAW roster. Zelina Vega is seemingly one of the smartest minds on the show since she was able to draft in Humberto Carrillo’s own cousin to step in Andrade’s shoes while he’s forced to take a leave of absence.

Garza made quite the statement when he not only attacked his own cousin but he then put Rey Mysterio out of action as well, so what’s next for Garza on WWE’s flagship show?
