WWE Raw Results Jan 25: Randy Orton Interrupts Women’s Championship Match, Edge, Goldberg, and Drew McIntyre Return

The go-home episode of Raw ahead of The Royal Rumble promised to be a packed episode with Alexa Bliss being granted her Women’s Championship match against Asuka while Drew McIntyre makes his return to Raw to go face-to-face with Goldberg.

1. Drew McIntyre and Goldberg Return to Raw

Raw kicked off with WWE Champion Drew McIntyre making his return before he was interrupted by The Miz and John Morrison. Mr. Money in the Bank teased a cash-in at the Royal Rumble once again before Goldberg came out warned McIntyre about Sunday and the two men then destroyed Miz and Morrison.



2. Charlotte Flair def. Shayna Baszler

Charlotte Flair made quick work of Baszler but the match was interrupted by Nia Jax which forced a disqualification. Mandy Rose and Dana Brooke then made the save before Lacey Evans made her way to the ring.

3. Charlotte Flair, Mandy Rose, and Dana Brooke def. Lacey Evans, Nia Jax, and Shayna Baszler – via Count-out

Heading into the Women’s Royal Rumble match, this six-woman tag match allowed several women to send a message. The match instead was a short one, that saw Baszler counted out after putting Charlotte back into the ring.

During the ad break, the match was restarted by Adam Pearce, which allowed Nia Jax to pick up the win for her team following the leg drop on Dana Brooke.



4. Xavier Woods def. Slapjack

RETRIBUTION have set their sights on Xavier Woods in recent weeks and so far the former Tag Team Champion has lost to Mace and T-Bar so Slapjack stepped up this week. A shining wizard secured the win for Woods despite the numbers game before a double chokeslam from Mace and T-Bar after the march. Mustafa Ali looked to deliver a chair shot to Woods but instead told him to send a message to Kingston and announced his Royal Rumble entry.

VIP Lounge: The Hurt Business were in The VIP Lounge and handed MVP a necklace as a present before R-Truth interrupted thinking that the necklace was for him. The Hurt Business attempted to attack Truth before Riddle made the save to build up his match later in the night.

5. Sheamus def. John Morrison

Both these men announced their place in the Men’s Royal Rumble match earlier in the night and put on a clinic on Raw. The Miz was at ringside for the match but wasn’t able to help his friend to victory since Sheamus won following White Noise.

The Miz and John Morrison def. Sheamus: After the match, Miz challenged Sheamus to a handicap match and he accepted. Sheamus fought through the numbers game and almost had the match won following a Brogue Kick to John Morrison but Miz was there to deliver a Skull Crushing Finale to pickup the win.

Backstage: Charlotte’s feud with Lacey Evans continued when she called out her father and received a Women’s Right from The Sassy Southern Belle.



6. AJ Styles def. R-Truth

Truth would be added to the Royal Rumble match if he could find a way past AJ Styles, but the 24/7 champion was forced to tap to The Calf Crusher.

7. Riddle def. The Hurt Business – 3 vs 1 Gauntlet Match

If Riddle wanted a United States Championship match against Bobby Lashley then he would be forced to run the gauntlet against The Raw Tag Team Champions and MVP. Shelton Benjamin kicked the match off and could have got the win but Cedric distracted the referee which helped Riddle pick up the win with a victory roll.

MVP quickly tapped to The Knee Bar after being distracted by the issue between Cedric and Shelton.

Cedric Alexander was the final man up and after refusing to tap refusing to tap to the triangle choke Riddle claimed the victory with a victory roll. After the match, Bobby Lashley attacked Riddle from behind and locked in The Hurt Lock.

Backstage: Edge made his first appearance in seven months where he announced that he was cleared for action and entering the 2021 Royal Rumble match.



8. Raw Women’s Championship | Asuka(c) vs. Alexa Bliss – No Contest

The mind games continued from Alexa Bliss this week as she turned back into the old Alexa Bliss mid-way through the match. Bliss then changed back into her dark persona and Asuka tried to lock in the Asuka Lock.

Bliss then used the Mandible Claw on Asuka before Randy Orton appeared and RKO’d the former Champion, costing her the title.
