The go-home episode of Raw ahead of Survivor Series featured two Championship matches with huge implications. The New Day defended the Raw Tag Team Championships against The Hurt Business while Randy Orton handed Drew McIntyre his rematch for the WWE Championship.

Orton and Miz Interrupts Drew McIntyre

Drew McIntyre kicked off this week’s show ahead of his clash against The Viper later in the night. The Scottish star talked about how he was going to defeat Randy Orton later in the night before Orton interrupted and bragged about his much he has been suspended throughout his career.

The Miz made his way to the ring alongside John Morrison and went on to tease a cash in for later in the night. The Miz also stated that The Fiend is afraid of him which is why he didn’t appear last week on Raw.

Backstage: Lana was with Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler where she was trying to convince them that the six-man tag team match was her idea and it was because she wanted to prove her loyalty. Jax and Baszler didn’t care about what Lana had to say and warned her not to tag in during the match.

Asuka, Mandy Rose and Dana Brooke def. Nia Jax, Shayna Baszler and Lana

Mandy Rose was seemingly written out of the match at Survivor Series when her already injured shoulder was stamped on by Shayna Baszler on the steel steps.

Lana then tagged into the match despite it being a handicap match and lost the match for her team when she tapped to the Asuka lock. Jax then picked Lana up and put her through the announce table for the ninth time.

Backstage: AJ Styles tried to maintain some form of composure within his Survivor Series team as Riddle, Sheamus, Keith Lee, and Braun Strowman all had a disagreement. Styles then stated that his team would face RETRIBUTION later in the night.

Backstage: Dana Brooke explained that Mandy Rose was in rough shape after the match before she was attacked by Reckoning and seemingly written out of Survivor Series as well.

Bray Wyatt was back in the Firefly Fun House where he pitched a match against The Miz for later in the night after The Miz claimed that Wyatt was scared of him. Wyatt then prepared for the match with his friends in the Fun House.

Raw Tag Team Championship: The New Day def. The Hurt Business

Ahead of the match, MVP talked about how, after the night, The Hurt Business would own most of the gold on Raw. Cedric Alexander thought he had the victory for his team with a brainbuster on Kofi Kingston but the end came when Woods and Kingston combined to hit Daybreak to retain their Championships.

Backstage: Sheamus gave Drew McIntyre a present, which was all of his old wrestling memorabilia.

Retribution def. Team Raw

Team Raw struggled to remain on the same page throughout the match and when AJ Styles tried to step in and sort out these issues, Strowman pushed him onto his bodyguard.

The four men struggled to remain on the same page throughout the match and the wheels came off completely when Strowman turned on his teammates and pushed Riddle to the floor after he tagged in. Mustafa Ali was able to take advantage of this and roll up Riddle for the win.

Backstage: Jeff Hardy found a flyer about the car accident Elias was in and said that if The Drifter wanted information then he was going to bust the case wide open.

Hardy then confronted Elias and told him that he didn’t hit him with the car before he then told him that if he kept pushing then he would be found guilty of much worse.

Bray Wyatt def. The Miz

Ahead of the match, The Miz tried to state that there was no reason to have the match and they should instead find a peaceful solution. Alexa Bliss came out and told Miz that he said no before Nikki Cross tried to intervene. Bliss then attacked Nikki Cross and the two women had to be pulled apart.

Bray Wyatt then made his way to the ring and ended the problems between the two women. Miz was able to get some offense in against Wyatt, but in the end, it proved fruitless since Bray Wyatt was able to hit Sister Abigail to pick up the victory. Alexa Bliss played her part by getting rid of John Morrison at ringside.

After the match, The Fiend appeared on the Titantron as Bray Wyatt and Alexa Bliss were heading to the back.

Backstage: Adam Pearce was backstage and announced that Dana Brooke and Mandy Rose had been removed from Survivor Series and replaced with Lacey Evans and Peyton Royce. Asuka also noted that she will defeat Sasha Banks.

WWE Championship: Drew McIntyre def. Randy Orton

Ahead of the match, Drew McIntyre made quite the entrance in a kilt and it was shown that WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry was watching on from The ThunderDome. Randy Orton tried to get counted out by leaving the match before Adam Pearce made the announcement that it would now be no count-out and no disqualification.

Following the re-start, the match was taken up a level, and weapons were introduced and McIntyre kicked out after a number of chair shots.

In the end, it was The Claymore that proved to be stronger than the RKO when McIntyre hit Orton with his finisher and won back the WWE Championship. McIntyre will face Roman Reigns at Survivor Series.
