WWE presented a stacked episode of Monday Night Raw this week as the build-up to their final pay-per-view of the year continued.
A Moment of Bliss
A Moment of Bliss kicked off this week’s show with Randy Orton as the special guest. The Viper claimed that Alexa Bliss was The Fiend’s weakness and when Bray Wyatt’s alter-ego looked to attack, Orton took Bliss in his arms and used the former Women’s Champion to get away from The Fiend.
Symphony of Destruction Match | Jeff Hardy def. Elias
WWE made it clear that this was the final chapter of the lengthy feud between Hardy and Elias, which seemingly began when Elias believed that Hardy was the one who knocked him over back in the summer.
Mid-way through the match, R-Truth was spotted hiding in a piano and then Drew Gulak, Lince Dorado, and Gran Metalik ran to ringside but were attacked with guitars.
After using several of the weapons at their disposal, Jeff Hardy was put through the set of drums before Elias ran into a symbol. Elias was later electrocuted before Hardy was able to hit him with a Bass from behind and then deliver a Swanton through a table to pick up the win.
Slapjack def. Ricochet
Ahead of the match, Mustafa Ali noted that Slapjack wanted to send Ricochet a message because he refused to join Retribution. Ricochet was on top mid-way through the match and the rest of Retribution ran out and were then taken out by Ricoeht as well.
Dana Brooke headed to the ring and slapped Mustafa Ali whilst looking for Reckoning and inside the ring Slapjack was able to take advantage of the numbers game by delivering the swinging neckbreaker to pick up the victory over Ricochet.
The Miz welcomed Sheamus to Miz TV, to try to convince him to turn on Drew McIntyre and help him cash in his contract. The segment ended with Sheamus taking out both Miz and Morrison ahead of their match tonight before Miz returned the favor using the Money in the Bank contract.
Asuka and Lana def. Shayna Baszler and Nia Jax
After being at odds for the past week, Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler looked to bounce back from their first loss last week on Raw. Shayna Baszler had Lana in the Kirofuda Clutch while Nia neutralized Asuka, but The Empress broke up the hold with a knee and Lana was then able to pin The Queen of Spades.
Cedric Alexander def. Xavier Woods
After weeks of issues between The Hurt Business and The New Day, Cedric Alexander was able to defeat Xavier Woods in singles competition following The Lumbar Check. After the match, Cedric walked off from Shelton and MVP.
#1 Contender’s Triple Threat Match | AJ Styles def. Riddle and Keith Lee
WWE called this match a sudden death triple threat for the chance to challenge Drew McIntyre for the WWE Championship at TLC. Despite the name, the match was still seen as one fall to the finish with the traditional triple threat rules.
The match could have gone either way for much of the bout with all three men having momentum, but in the end, it was AJ Styles who picked up the victory with The Phenomenal Forearm to Riddle.
Dana Brooke def. Reckoning
Reckoning made her in-ring debut on Raw after the attack she unleashed on Brooke a few weeks ago. Brooke picked up the win after interference from Ali went wrong and Brooke rolled up Reckoning for the win. After the match, Ali shouted about there being no failure in Retribution, despite the loss being his fault.
MVP attacked Riddle backstage before Bobby Lashley stepped in and took out The Original Bro.
Drew McIntyre and Sheamus def. The Miz and John Morrison via DQ
Ahead of the match, The Miz teased cashing in his Money in the Bank contract, even though McIntyre warned him that it wouldn’t be a wise move. AJ Styles was on commentary and invaded the match by delivering a Phenomenal Forearm to McIntyre.
Morrison then hit Starship Pain and Miz delivered the Skull Crushing Finale and Miz then tried to cash in his contract but was hit with a Claymore. McIntyre then turned his attention to Styles and his bodyguard then saved him by carrying him away.
