After their altercation on Friday Night SmackDown, Bray Wyatt was announced as a guest on The Kevin Owens Show on tonight’s episode of Raw as the issues between the two men continue.
Randy Orton Explains His Actions from Last Week
Backstage: The show kicked off with Randy Orton detailing the way he took out each of the WWE legends last week on Raw. The Viper used night vision goggles to get the upper-hand on Shawn Michaels, The Big Show, Christian and, Ric Flair. Orton challenged Drew McIntyre to another WWE Championship match but this time inside Hell in a Cell, before the Champion broke into the room and attacked The Legend Killer.
Asuka, Mandy Rose and Dana Brooke def. Lana, Natalya and Zelina Vega
It was a botchy opening match of the show with the issues between the six women continuing. In the end, it was Mandy Rose whose push on Raw continued when she pinned Lana following a knee strike to the head.
After the match, Shayna Baszler and Nia Jax returned and Zelina Vega hightailed it out of the ring. The Women’s Tag Team Champions looked to put Natalya through the announce table but after Lana made the save, she suffered the same fate for the third time.
Backstage: R-Truth was talking about Draft tactics with Little Jimmy before he was rolled up by Drew Gulak and lost his 24/7 Championship.
Backstage: MVP was talking to Ricochet, Apollo Crews, and Mustafa Ali where he also brought up the draft and seemingly managed to turn Ricochet’s head when he noted that there was a space in The Hurt Business tonight.
Seth Rollins and Murphy def. Humberto Carrillo and Dominik Mysterio
Seth Rollins made his way to the ring alongside Murphy, and after recapping the events of last week, Murphy wanted an apology. The Monday Night Messiah refused before Dominik Mysterio and Humberto Carrillo interrupted and made their way to the ring for their scheduled match.
The tension between Rollins and Murphy was apparent throughout the match, but even though The Messiah was in his face all the way through, Murphy was able to hit an incredible knee on Carillo to pick up the win.
Backstage: Braun Strowman revealed that Raw Underground wouldn’t be taking place again tonight, but he still wanted a match. Adam Pearce told him he could only make an exhibition match since he wasn’t a Raw superstar and Keith Lee volunteered.
Backstage: Murphy was found by Seth Rollins and The Messiah stated that it was his disciple who needed to issue an apology. He told him to find him by 10 pm and apologize if he wanted to remain as a disciple or there would be hell to pay.
Bray Wyatt on The KO Show
Kevin Owens welcomed Fun House Bray Wyatt to the KO Show but before Wyatt made his way to the ring the change in Owens was apparent since he threw all the chairs out of the ring.
Wyatt appeared in The Firefly Fun House and talked about the Draft. Wyatt then sang about how friends would stick together even if they’re on different brands. Ramblin Rabbit was then eaten again by Mercy The Buzzard. Owens stated that he’s not Wyatt’s friend and he wanted to fight him.
Wyatt then warned him that he didn’t know what he had gotten himself into but on Friday Night SmackDown, he will. Owens looked to find Wyatt but was taken down by a Black Mass from Aleister Black on the ramp.
Backstage: Drew McIntyre accepted Randy Orton’s challenge for Hell in a Cell. He also stated that from now on whenever he and Orton were in the same arena he would kick the crap out of him.
Keith Lee vs. Braun Strowman
Braun Strowman dominated Keith Lee but the match ended in a double countout when The Limitless One was thrown into the steel steps. The end of the match didn’t signal the end of this bout as Lee stood up and went after Strowman, and took him off the stage.
Backstage: Drew Gulak tried to hide from R-Truth but revealed Akira Tozawa was hiding in a bin. All three men then jumped into a skip and somehow Truth was able to get the cover to win back his Championship.
MVP made his way to the ring alongside The Hurt Business and made more excuses about their loss last week. Ricochet, Mustafa Ali and Apollo Crews made their way to the ring and turned down the opportunity to join The Hurt Business.
The Hurt Business def. Ricochet and Apollo Crews
Ricochet and Apollo Crews came up short in tag team action this week despite Apollo pulling off an incredible dodge away from a spear. Lashley locked in the Hurt Lock on Crews and he was left with no choice but to tap.
Backstage: Ali approached The Hurt Business and threatened MVP ahead of their match.
Murphy Turns on Seth Rollins
Seth Rollins and Murphy made their way to the ring but there was no apology on the agenda since the disciple attacked The Messiah. The two men brawled outside the ring with Murphy obtaining a kendo stick and attacking his former leader. Murphy hit him with the kendo stick until he apologized to Aalyah.
Rollins then turned it around and dug in the kendo stick shots on Murphy. Aalyah came to the ring to save Murphy but she was helped to the back by her family.
Women’s Tag Team Championship: Shayna Baszler and Nia Jax def. Ruby Riott and Liv Morgan
After their match was canceled at Clash of Champions, the two women defended their titles against The Riott Squad on Raw. It was a simple match for Baszler and Jax as Baszler locked in the Kirofuda Clutch for the win.
MVP vs. Mustafa Ali, Retribution Gets a New Leader
MVP looked to bring Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin into the match when he was unable to beat Ali alone which brought out RETRIBUTION. Ali then sided with RETRIBUTION and watched the group attack The Hurt Business. It looks like Ali is now the leader of the new faction.
Randy Orton, Dolph Ziggler, and Robert Roode def. Drew McIntyre and The Street Profits
This week’s main event saw a number of combustible elements collide, given the Hell in a Cell news earlier in the night. The match ended with Drew McIntyre being pinned for the first time in 2020 following an RKO from Randy Orton.
