Event: WWE RAW
Date: November 11, 2019
Location: Manchester, United Kingdom
WWE continued the tradition of yearly UK shows, with the latest edition of Monday Night RAW. The episode was taped on Friday, right after the SmackDown taping from the same arena.
WWE RAW Women’s Champion Becky Lynch opened the show with a promo. She talked about her past in the country, and how she started off in the industry at 15-year-old. She went on to talk about her upcoming match with Shayna Baszler and Bayley and promised to win the battle for the brand supremacy. Lynch went on to challenge the Kabuki Warriors for an opportunity to become Becky 2 Belts, and out came her friend/rival Charlotte Flair for the tag-team championship match.
WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship Match – The Kabuki Warriors def. Becky Lynch & Charlotte Flair: The Tag-Team Champions almost lost the championships to the two stalwarts from the singles division before a distraction from NXT Women’s Champion Shayna Baszler paved the way for a roll-up victory.
Post Match, Baszler was attacked by Bayley, and Baszler retaliated. Bayley then attacked Lynch and stood tall to end the segment.
Backstage, The OC taunted Humberto Carillo and Ricochet and mouthed a few bad words to Randy Orton. Orton challenged the OC for a match.
Drew McIntyre def. Sin Cara: Another export of the United Kingdom, McIntyre continued his mean streak since his return from injury by handing the masked Luchador yet another loss. McIntyre delivered his deadly Claymore Kick for the victory.
Handicap Match for the 24/7 Championship – The Singh Brothers vs. R-Truth ends in No Contest: Samir and Sunil Singh ran away from the ring during the match, much to the chagrin of the crowd. The duo ran into Erick Rowan who destroyed them backstage.
Seth Rollins cut a promo on how he is ready to take down the threat of NXT. He said that he doesn’t want to go in the past like Finn Balor and laid down a challenge to the best UK has to offer. The Imperium stable led by WALTER interrupted Rollins, and the NXT UK Champion stepped-up to fight the Architect.
Seth Rollins def. WALTER by DQ: Rollins cut a promo on how he is ready to take down the threat of NXT, and laid down a challenge to the best UK has to offer. The Imperium stable led by WALTER interrupted Rollins, and the NXT UK Champion stepped-up to fight the Architect. Rollins and WALTER fought until the rest of Imperium attacked Rollins while he was readying for a Stomp.
Post Match, Imperium proceeded to attack the former Universal Champion, before Street Profits and Kevin Owens leveled the odds for the red brand.
Seth Rollins, Kevin Owens and Street Profits def. Imperium: The RAW superstars picked up a victory in a fine encounter between the two teams. Rollins landed the Stomp on Alexander Wolfe for the win.
Andrade def. Cedric Alexander: Andrade defeated the former Cruiserweight Champion with some help from his business associate Zelina Vega. Andrade landed his Hammerlock DDT finisher for the victory.
Aleister Black cut yet another promo asking for someone to step up and challenge him.
Lana came out to the ring and talked about having sex with Bobby Lashley seven weeks ago for the first time. She continued to talk about her amazing life with Lashley and then revealed that she is pregnant with Rusev’s child. Rusev made his way out to the ring and the couple exchanged a few words before Lana slapped him. Lashley entered the ring and proceeded to destroy the Bulgarian Brute. Lana smiled and said that she was lying and made her exit with Lashley to end the segment.
Erick Rowan def. Soner Dursan: Rowan carried a mysterious cage-like structure with something inside it, covered by a cloth. He squashed the local talent for the victory with the Iron Claw slam.
The Viking Raiders def. Flash Morgan Webster and Mark Andrews: The RAW Tag Team Champions took down the tag-team from NXT UK in a short yet exciting matchup. The champions hit the Viking Experience for the win.
Randy Orton, Ricochet & Humberto Carillo def. The OC: The main event of the evening saw the OC lose after Carillo pinned the United States Champion AJ Styles. There was a lot of tension between Orton and Ricochet but they overcame their differences to win the matchup.
Takeaways from Monday Night RAW
1. Friendship Restored??
Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair have had quite the rivalry in recent times. Both the superstars are cornerstones of the Women’s Division and featured together in the first-ever Women’s Main-Event at Wrestlemania. Their on-again, off-again relationship is quite weird to see, as WWE never seem to keep Charlotte as a heel for a long time.
On this week’s RAW, the two ladies reunited once again, and seem to have forgotten all the bad blood between them from earlier this year. This doesn’t help the continuity and hardly makes sense.
WWE must realize that all the babyfaces cannot be friends with each other. In AEW, Cody, a face, had a great partnership with MJF, who was a heel, for a long time before MJF finally turned this week.
