The final stop on the road to Elimination Chamber would see the return of WWE Hall of Famer Edge, as Roman Reigns prepared to defend his Universal Championship against the winner of the SmackDown Elimination Chamber.
Opening Segment
The Rated R Superstar kicked off this week’s show where he talked about his WrestleMania decision, before being interrupted by Roman Reigns. The two men looked to make some kind of decision between them before Sami Zayn interrupted and continued to claim that there was a conspiracy against him.
Jey Uso super-kicked Sami Zayn before Reigns and Edge then had a secret exchange in the ring and The Tribal Chief left.
Shinsuke Nakamura def. Apollo Crews
Big E was on commentary to scout his competition and Crews threw Nakamura at the Intercontinental Champion and knocked his food on the floor. Crews was on top throughout the match but Nakamura was able to lock in the armbar and was able to keep him down for the three-count. Crews attacked Nakamura after the match and Big E was forced to step in to stop the star from attacking The Artist with the Steel steps.
Big E turned his back momentarily, only to get attacked with the steps. Crews then threw the steel steps on Big E from inside the ring. During the ad-break, Big E was stretched out of the ring.
Seth Rollins Warns Cesaro
Seth Rollins made his way out to the ramp to talk about Big E’s recent beatdown and how it was a tragedy. The Messiah talked about how upset he was about last week’s walkout and the fact that he has since written a complaint to WWE management. Rollins then brought Cesaro back into the conversation and made it clear that their issues were far from over.
Tamina and Natalya def. The Riott Squad
Ruby and Liv Morgan had the upper hand in the match until Billie Kay came out and provided the distraction that allowed Tamina to deliver a spinning flatliner for the victory.
After the match, Kay looked to celebrate with Nattie and Tamina but was attacked by both women, who made it clear that they were not her friend.
Ding Dong, Hello!
Bayley welcomed the Women’s Tag Team Champions onto her Ding Dong Hello, talk show, where they seemed to build towards a Women’s Tag Team Championship match with Sasha Banks and Bianca Belair at Elimination Chamber.
Banks and Belair interrupted the segment after Reginald seemingly swapped sides and came out to defend The Boss. After a strange back and forth where Banks and Belair teased their WrestleMania match a six-person tag was made.
Reginald, Sasha Banks, and Bianca Belair def. Shayna Baszler, Bayley, and Nia Jax
Reginald teamed with Belair and Banks who already had some tension between them, but was able to hold his own against Nia Jax. Belair and Banks took out Baszler on the apron which allowed Reginald to get into a press position and after being assisted by Banks and Belair he pinned Jax.
Rey Mysterio and Dominik def. Chad Gable and Otis via DQ
Bobby Roode and Dolph Ziggler were on commentary but it was a very short match that ended in DQ when Chad Gable refused to leave the ring. Gable and Otis seemingly turned heel and continuing the assault following the match.
Backstage: Carmella and Reginald were seemingly no longer on the same page after his antics in the ring earlier in the night.
Kevin Owens, Daniel Bryan, and Cesaro def. Jey Uso, Sami Zayn, and King Corbin
The six men who will step inside The Elimination Chamber this weekend, faced off in a six-man tag team match. Paul Heyman and Edge were both on commentary to watch Daniel Bryan force Sami Zayn to tap to the Yes Lock.
After the match, Corbin hit an end of days on Bryan, followed by Owens with a Stunner on Corbin. Sami Zayn delivered an exploder suplex to Kevin Owens.
Cesaro then delivered an uppercut to Zayn, Uso super-kicked Cesaro before Edge speared Jey, and Roman Reigns then speared Edge to stand tall at the end of the show.
