The fallout from the Royal Rumble pay-per-view dominated this week’s episode of SmackDown as the blue brand celebrated officially being in The Road to WrestleMania.
Roman Reigns Calls Out Edge
This week’s show kicked off with Universal Champion Roman Reigns calling out Royal Rumble winner Edge. The Rated R Superstar wasn’t in the building at the time, which only served to anger Reigns. The Head of the Table then told Edge he wanted his decision by the end of the show.
Dominik Mysterio def. King Corbin
Before Mysterio was able to make his way to the ring, he was attacked by King Corbin on the ramp. The match still went ahead with Rey Mysterio recovering from the attack while his son headed to the ring. Mid-way through the match, Rey Mysterio disappeared under the ring and help his son to gain an advantage over Corbin which allowed him to his a 619 and splash for the win.
Cesaro def. Daniel Bryan
Cesaro looked strong throughout the match and was able to fight out of the Yes Lock before be forced Bryan to tap to The Sharpshooter. After the match, Bryan and Cesaro showed respect for one another. This is the second clean win for Cesaro against Bryan in recent weeks.
Bayley def. Ruby Riott
Bayley took on Riott with Liv Morgan at ringside and Billie Kay on commentary, and once again The Australian star cost Riott her match when she tried to interfere. Bayley got the win off her Rose Plant finisher.
Sasha Banks Confronts Bianca Belair
Bianca Belair headed out to the ring to declare who she would face at WrestleMania following her Royal Rumble victory. Bianca was interrupted by Reginald, who was later joined by Carmella.
Carmella tried to talk Bianca out of challenging Banks for the Championship before The Boss made her way to the ring and Belair still failed to make a decision. Reginald tried to interfere again and was then whipped by Bianca and her hair.
Bobby Roode and Dolph Ziggler def. Otis and Chad Gable
The Street Profits did commentary throughout the match and talked about being afforded a rematch for their titles. Despite putting up a good fight, Gable was left to go at it alone and fell victim to a Glorious DDT.
Big E def. Apollo Crews and Sami Zayn | Intercontinental Championship
Sami Zayn claimed there was a conspiracy against him ahead of the match which wasn’t helped when he had the match won off a Helluva Kick to Big E but was dragged out of the ring before he could get the three count. Crews then threw Zayn into the timekeeper’s area and headed back into the ring where he walked into a Big Ending.
Reigns Confronts Edge, Stunned by Owens
Edge made his way to the ring to announce his WrestleMania decision before he was interrupted by Universal Champion Roman Reigns. Reigns asked Edge to acknowledge him, but before he could answer, Kevin Owens appeared out of nowhere and hit a Stunner on Reigns to end the show.
