More of the Same

But in a good way. Tonight saw The Miz cutting another promo about the respect he did not receive, and how he would take it at WrestleMania 34. The promo was fine – another typically good Miz mic work. Then came the tag team match, The Club won, The Miztourage’s post-match assault, Rollins’ rescue, and the Balor – Rollins staredown. Not bad, but not exceptional either.

Aaaaaand It Was OVAH

So…Bray Wyatt is OBSOLETE now?

First off, why did this match HAVE to happen on RAW? Such a special attraction would have been a better fit for WrestleMania, which is, conveniently, only TWO WEEKS AWAY. Unless Hardy and Wyatt come up with something even wilder than what we just witnessed tonight. Even though we have already seen the TNA version of Ultimate Deletion, we still found ourselves thoroughly amused as Bray Wyatt was made to (unfortunately, not literally) jump through hoops to get Matt Hardy. It felt like Bray Wyatt had everything against him – the unfamiliar battle zone, the PTSD, and the interference…OH THE INTERFERENCES. At the end, Bray Wyatt got thrown into the Lake of Reincarnation, and we shall see what would transpire from that. Hopefully not Husky Harris.

Bonus (‘Rowdy’ Ronda)

This segment was not aired on live TV. But as promised by the WWE, Ronda Rousey appeared on Raw but only after the show went off air. However, she was interrupted by Dana Brooke and tried to get her off the ring (was that really needed Dana?). Instead, Rousey grabbed Dana and threw her out of the ring.

Overall Review:

WWE Monday Night Raw had its ups and downs. The highlights were obviously The Ultimate Deletion, Brock Lesnar’s assault, and the Bayley – Banks storyline interactions. Most of the downs were due to the booking mess that the writers got themselves into, rather than the performers’ fault themselves. Still feeling bad for Dash and Dawson. Nevertheless, tonight’s show left us looking forward to feud developments in the two remaining RAWs before ‘Mania, and that means the red brand gets the thumbs up from us this week.
