<p>Riding off of a huge victory over Samoa Joe on Sunday at Backlash, Roman Reigns will be eyeing the belly of The Beast for the Universal Championship. Will the <em>“Uncrowned Universal Champion&#8221;</em> enter <strong>Money In The Bank Ladder Match</strong>. Read our detailed WWE Monday Night Raw Results &amp; Review below.</p>

<h3><strong>Braun’s New Tree House</strong></h3>

<p>If anyone needs any more convincing that Braun Strowman is a megastar in the making, look no further than tonight’s opening segment. The guy came and absolutely nailed it, both with the tree house promo and the ensuing match with Kevin Owens, although the latter was little more than a squash match. In Kurt Angle’s MITB announcement, Braun Strowman had made his intentions very clear: He wants the briefcase. He wants to topple everyone once they are perched atop the ladder. And he will do anything to get a tree house without secret handshakes.</p>

<p>However, that is not to overlook the other wrestlers looking to be involved in the men’s MITB match. Kevin Owens, though defeated at the hands of Strowman, carried himself pretty well in the promo segment preceding it. He probably would be involved in the match in one way or another if he does not fight Sami Zayn at the June PPV. The “Fight Forever” match would probably happen sooner than later, though, as Kevin had made some not-so-subtle references to his scuffle with Zayn at Backlash during his war of words with the RAW General Manager.</p>

<h3><strong>No Fiesta Tonight</strong></h3>

<p>The next chapter in a rehashed Baron Corbin vs No Way Jose feud was played out in front of our eyes tonight with a 3-on-3 tag team showdown. The heel side got a win tonight – a “retaliation” of sorts to Baron’s loss against No Way Jose courtesy of Titus World Slip a week before. It was a fun little match, but it made us a bit depressed to see The Revival being lowered to the level of Titus O’Neil. That reference was not intentional, we promise.</p>

<h3><strong>Underdog Victory </strong></h3>

<p><em>                </em>First thing off the bat: THE WOMEN’S MATCH ACTUALLY HAD A PURPOSE TONIGHT! Yes, yes, even though it was an MITB qualifying match, which is an integral and mandatory part of the build towards Money in the Bank, but hey, credit where it was due, right? Moreover, the ladies had a decently long match, too, and they made the most out of the time allotted, which goes to show how much better today’s women division is compared to just 5 years ago. Oh the Bellas.</p>
<p>Also, the Bayley – Banks saga had an interesting twist, as Bayley actually <em>saved</em> Sasha Banks while she was being attacked by The Riott Squad, so we will see how the writers will go from there.</p>

<p><em>                </em>Another clean win for the bad guys of the red show? Is this real life?</p>
<p>Chad Gable vs Jinder Mahal was not that much fun, to be honest, with Jinder being Jinder and Gable failing to elevate the former WWE champion anywhere close to the Olympian’s level. Typical stuff. However, as mentioned above, it was the outcome that was unexpected.</p>
<p>We feel that Jinder Mahal’s character has been more and more aggressive lately, and tonight served as another piece of evidence for that direction. And to us, any direction apart from “evil foreigner with the nationality card on hand” is a good direction for Jinder. MOAHHHHH!</p>

<p>This match happened for the third straight week tonight. Why why why why why, creative?</p>
<p>No more commenting on the in-ring quality of the match, since absolutely nothing stood out. With tonight’s victory, Bobby Roode made a pretty strong case for a MITB qualifying match. That was all.</p>

<h3><strong>Finn Balor, The Miz, and… Mojo Rawley?</strong></h3>

<p>That was the line-up of the 3 most recent challengers for Seth Rollins’ Intercontinental Championship. All three matches happened within the span of a week, so Seth Rollins IS a fighting champion alright. However, to go from Finn Balor and The Miz to Mojo freakin’ Rawlins was a bit of a downfall, even though we acknowledged that it was part of Seth’s open challenge.</p>
<p>Hey, did we ever see John Cena vs Hornswoggle for Cena’s United States Championship? Jokes aside, it was good to see Mojo (and his borderline ADHD personality) on TV again, and the match was more entertaining than I had expected. Seth Rollins, you know the question: WHO’S NEXT?</p>

<h3><strong>Dream Match Spoiled</strong></h3>

<p><em>                </em>Boy oh boy did Jinder Mahal know how to draw heat. The main event, probably the single match of the night we were all looking forward to, was spoiled by a bitter Jinder Mahal who did not prove himself worthy of a MITB Qualifying Match to Kurt Angle. The match had been fantastic hitherto, and it was well on its way to a 4.5-star classic. So disappointed about the ending, but more worried about the implications of Jinder’s interference.</p>
<p>Will it lead to Jinder Mahal vs Roman Reigns a.k.a the loudest boo ever recorded in human history at Summerslam? Let us hope not, since Roman’s booking has been awful enough for a feud with Jinder to be a threat to Reigns’ position on the card. Oh well, at least Finn Balor will be in the MITB ladder match, so there is another pair of hands to look forward to this June.</p>

<h3><strong>Stuff that was worth noting, but not deserving of their own entries</strong></h3>
<p>Ew, that Money in the Bank logo was WAAY too big for that ugly suitcase. Did the Glam Squad get their hands on it?</p>
<p>Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre def. Beauty and the Man-Beast. What was it, the third time already? Is the pairing of Ziggler and McIntyre going anywhere?</p>
<p>Deleters of Worlds def. Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel as the artists formerly known as Miztourage continued their search for a gang that would take them on.</p>

<h3><strong>Overall Review:</strong></h3>
<p>The post-Backlash Monday night show was more storyline-heavy, as the MITB 6-man gang slowly assembled and started to find reasons to hate one another, and the old storylines got added some new development. The women’s match actually had some meaning to it, and yes, we should always point that out. The heels were given a shot of legitimacy as 3 matches tonight ended with the bad dudes getting the clean pin.</p>
<p>There was a worrying potential rivalry brewing in Reigns vs Mahal, and we would rather have Reigns feud with a shovel, like back in WrestleMania 32. Despite the gloominess of this synopsis, there were some highlights in the names of Braun Strowman and… yeah not much else. Just Strowman and the tree house he flipped over.</p>
