With Roman Reigns out of WWE battling Leukemia, John Cena refusing to go to Saudi Arabia for Crown Jewel and other injury concerns, let’s see how this week’s Raw turns out.

Brock Lesnar stands tall

This one had predictability written all over it but it was what it was and while it wasn’t great, we guess it is the best WWE can manage under these circumstances.

It was great to see Corbin being respectful of Reigns. Strowman and Lesnar quickly got down to business. Strowman has lost steam lately and it is because he has stopped doing the things that made him a monster in the first place. Tonight he got some of that shine back as he made good use of Corbin to show off his physical prowess to Lesnar.

We all know that Strowman is going to win the title on Sunday and this fact was further cemented when Lesnar F5’d Strowman and stood tall over him. We get that this wasn’t WWE’s plan but this could turn out to be something exciting with Drew McIntyre waiting in the wings. A decent way to start RAW.

Lashley replaces Cena at the Crown Jewel

Finn Bálor def. Bobby Lashley via Disqualification: This match got us excited at first as it seemed like Lashley and Balor were going to sink their teeth into a nice long feud but it all turned out to be a cheap way to get Lashley to replace Cena at the Crown Jewel.

[adace-ad id=”7795″]

We get that WWE had very little time to come up with something but this was the least creative way they could have gone about it. Also, wouldn’t Balor have been a better replacement for Cena? It is again sad to see Balor being left out to dry and we will probably see him languish now to the point where he is forced to leave WWE.

The match itself was okay and the Lashley and Rush duo work better as bad guys. This, however, yet again highlights a serious issue in WWE right now. They have forgotten the art of storytelling and are just throwing random stuff at the fans and hoping to get away with it all.

Something weird is going on with the Women’s Division

Sasha Banks, Bayley, Natalya, Trish Stratus & Lita def. The Riott Squad, Mickie James & Alicia Fox: Evolution went better than most critics anticipated and how did WWE celebrate? By putting together some of the most random bull**** ever.

[adace-ad id=”7792″]

It started with a massive five on five tag match between Banks, Bayley, Trish, Lita and Natalya against the team of Riott Squad, Alicia Fox and Mickie James that ended in the blink of an eye. Obviously the faces won. There was nothing worthwhile to mention here.

What followed was even worse. Nia Jax delivered one of the most monotonous promos ever and it was in passing that we were informed about Becky Lynch facing Ronda Rousey at Survivor series.

This is a huge match and WWE shows how much they care about it by just dropping the news in the most underwhelming manner. What the hell WWE? This then led to more randomness as Moon challenged Jax to a match for no apparent reason.
