Matt Riddle pummels Kassius Ohno

This wasn’t a match that was announced before and for good reason. All the matches on the card needed time and WWE resolved that by having this end in a very short time.

Matt Riddle is an exciting talent and this feud with Ohno could help. Ohno couldn’t mount any offense and this makes their match next week quite interesting. We definitely would have loved to see more of these guys but this is also a great way to start this unique program.

Winner: Matt Riddle

The Horsewomen of NXT come together

As a foreshadowing of things to come, Shayna Baszler retained her championship with the help of her Horsewomen sisters.

The two out of three falls match went just about as you would expect it to. The first fall went to the champ with a distraction from Shafir and Duke while Sane got the second one. Sane started the third one really well and looked to have enough momentum to pick up the win only for Shafir and Duke to cause another distraction.

Dakota Kai and Io Shirai tried to even the odds but Baszler picked up the third count for the win.

This was decently exciting match and Kairi Sane lost in a protected manner. The more exciting prospect is seeing these three women team up with Rousey on the main roster to take on Lynch, Charlotte, Banks and Bayley somewhere down the line.

Winner and still NXT Women’s Champion: Shayna Baszler

Rating: Thumbs Up

Aleister Black gets his revenge

One area where NXT often delivers better than the main roster show is in delivering on feuds that have been built up over a long time. This was one of those feuds where WWE took their time and the payoff in the form of this match felt great.

[adace-ad id=”7792″]

This was a hard-hitting NXT match that kept alluding to the tension between these two men. The chemistry between these two is great and the only gripe we have is that this match didn’t go a little longer. We are still happy as this was entertaining and keeps the feud alive as well.

The question now is that what new levels is Gargano going to stoop down to beat Black. Exciting possibilities.

Winner: Aleister Black
