Smackdown has sort of been languishing in a sense of mediocrity as far as its booking for Summerslam is concerned. Let us take a look if this week’s edition was able to rectify it.

Charlotte and Becky Lynch Prove Their Worthiness

This was a great segment and loved the fact that Charlotte called Carmella a diva living in the women’s division. Clearly WWE does not want to give away any clues as to what will happen on Sunday.

Lynch‘s chances dwindled the moment Charlotte was added to the match and it dwindled further today as she picked up the win making it less likely that she will win on Sunday. Are they trying to start a feud between Charlotte and Lynch at the end of this? If they are then it is not a good idea. We do not need another Bayley and Sasha Banks situation.

The match with Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville was decent and overall this segment has us interested as to what will go down on Sunday which means that it served its purpose.

The Bludgeon Brothers Cannot Wait for the Bell

The Bludgeon Brothers faced off against three local talents or at least they were supposed to but in their typical fashion they destroyed the three before the bell rang. This level of domination leaves us with mixed emotions.

[adace-ad id=”7792″]

On one hand, we love how they are being all destructive but the problem is that this seemed pointless. They are supposed to face The New Day on Sunday with the title on the line but there was no involvement from the New Day here.

WWE probably wanted a subtle mind game by having the Bludgeon Brothers take out a tag team of three members but it didn’t work here. Plus there is the fact that the Bludgeon Brothers have done exactly this for way too many times.

Rating: Thumbs Down
