After two disappointing shows in successive nights, lets see if WWE manages to redeem itself with SmackDown.
It’s back to business for Daniel Bryan and the Miz
After what can be thought of as a brief break involving their respective spouses, it seems these two are back to single’s business. Maryse did play her final part tonight and we finally got what we have been clamoring for a long time. These two will face each other at the Super Showdown and the winner will get a WWE championship shot.
This feud was beginning to stagnate and WWE adding this angle keeps it fresh. This feud would be so much better and meaningful with the title also involved. The segment itself was quite fun with Maryse feigning being hurt and then actually getting hurt. Nice way to start SmackDown.

Cesaro neutralizes Kofi Kingston
The New Day were back to their silliness with Big E and Woods dressed for a safari for whatever reason but it was fun. The match itself was pretty good and the spot with Kofi doing a few flops on the rope before flipping on to Cesaro on the outside was cool to watch. Overall a great match but it provided little clue as to what is going to happen with the tag titles. We guess WWE still has plenty of time to do something worthwhile.

Aiden English screws up again
WWE continued the angle of English screwing up. This time it was a big one as he was caught bad-mouthing Rusev Day by Lana. Rusev staying focused for his US title match was great. We all knew English was going to cost him the match but the way he did was unexpected.
This time all he did was motivate Rusev and Rusev still lost the match. It was also wonderful to see English being the one to attack Rusev after the match which means that WWE are finally embracing the idea of a face Rusev. English is a rather weak opponent and WWE use this to push Rusev as a single’s wrestler eventually leading to a main event push.
