A Bleach Blonde Failure with a Famous Last Name.
OHHHHHHHHH! Yep, that was what Ruby Riott used to describe Charlotte Flair. It was a perfect cherry on top of a very good promo from Ruby. She had not been given too many chances to progress her character, and she seized the opportunity tonight. Charlotte even seemed overwhelmed when on the mic with the leader of the Riott Squad.
The segment served to build up Ruby as a legitimate contender (following the vein of her victory over Naomi last week), and better still, the segment did not end in the expected lame 3-on-1 beatdown. The Bobby Roode rescue was a nice touch – it put over the Mixed Match Challenge. Solid stuff.
The Third Singh Brother.
Poor Randy. He just cannot overcome interference whenever he faces Jinder Mahal, can he? The two Singh brothers were bad enough, The Great Khali was worse, but now even Bobby Roode? We really feel sorry for The Apex Predator when he fights Jinder – a bad in-ring performer who benefits from way too much outside interference.
So… Bobby Roode is a heel now?
A little backstage segment to set up for Rusev vs Nakamura at Fastlane, but it was a whole lot entertaining than what had happened so far on Smackdown. It was great of the writers to redeem themselves with good progress to the little feud.
And Nakamura actually sounded really good. Maybe “The Artist” was not just a nickname after all.
