WWE Rumor Roundup Apr 28, 2019: Huge Push For Bray Wyatt, Sasha Banks Set To Return, Daniel Bryan’s Injury

WWE Making An Example Of Luke Harper

As was previously reported, former Tag Team and Intercontinental Champion Luke Harper has asked for his release. Not only has the WWE declined his request, they have added six months to his contract due to the time he took off to have wrist surgery.

Given that WWE has recently granted the release request of other former stars such as Tye Dillinger and Hideo Itami, it seems kind of harsh that they are treating Harper this way. According to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Newsletter,  that’s the point.

Meltzer reports that the company was unhappy that Harper announced that he had requested his release on Twitter.

“This seems to be a way to dissuade people from going public and saying they’re unhappy,” reported Meltzer.

Reason Why Liv Morgan Was Separated From The Riott Squad

The Superstar Shakeup has shaken up and broken up one of today’s most solid women’s factions, The Riott Squad.

Ruby Riott and Sarah Logan are now Raw Superstars, while Liv Morgan remains on her own on SmackDown. So why the split?

According to reports, there are plans for Liv Morgan to join the cast of Total Divas and that is why she was separated from Riott and Logan. Why she couldn’t have been in Total Diva’s and be in the Riott Squad is unclear.

Bray Wyatt To Get A Huge Push

Bray Wyatt seems to have undergone a bit of a character change recently, as the “cheerful” host of the Firefly Fun House. While many people still find his gimmick creepy, it’s undoubtedly a different look for the former head of the Wyatt Family.

His reveal of the Firefly Fun House on the last episode of Raw was received well and was even trending, a fact that has pleased Vince McMahon and is going to lead to big things in the future.

According to the rignsideroster.com, the idea is for Wyatt to be the “creepiest and scariest character that was produced in recent years.” As such, when he comes back to compete, plans are for him to be booked strong and to remain “unbeaten for the foreseeable future.”

Sasha Banks Set To Return At Money In The Bank

With Sasha Banks’ WWE future unclear and Bayley being drafted to SmackDown, we might not be seeing the inaugural women’s tag team, the Boss N’ Hug Connection competing together anytime soon.

While the fate of their tag team is up in the air, the genuine friendship between Banks and Bayley doesn’t look affected by their recent loss.

The two were recently spotted and photographed attending the Moontower Comedy Festival in Austin, Texas.

Meanwhile, Ringside News is reporting that a recent leaked advertisement for the upcoming Money In The Bank pay-per-view shows Sasha Banks as a competitor in the Women’s Ladder Match along with Bayley, Carmella, Ember Moon, Niaomi, Natalya, Tamina, and Sonya Deville.

The official announcement for the Women’s Ladder Match is supposed to be given by Alexa Bliss during a Moment of Bliss during next week’s Raw.

Daniel Bryan’s Injury And Return

Daniel Bryan has been off TV since losing the WWE Title to Kofi Kingston during WrestleMania 35. Bryan has been pulled from television due to an undisclosed injury. Given that, speculation is rampant as to when we might see Bryan again.

According to a report on Cageside Seats, we could be seeing Daniel Bryan on SmackDown this week, though there’s no word on what he might be doing.

As they point out, Daniel Bryan’s name is still on the featured superstars list for the SmackDown Event in Columbus, Ohio for Tuesday (April 30).

Furthermore, Bryan’s name is still listed on several other upcoming SmackDown events for next months tour of the United Kingdom and Europe.
